I saw him there last year, it was ridiculous, he literally performs everything live at studio quality level - not a single mistake or slightly dirty note.
Man, I just had the pleasure of getting to meet Mr. Batio the other day (I work at a Guitar Center) - super nice guy, and to watch him play in person was mindblowing.
So clean and technically crisp, its sick! I like that he plays plenty of clean melody in between all the shredding, instead of just running constant arpeggios. Which is what some do when they can play fast. They actually fit.
Of all the amazing stuff he does, his ridiculous tone is the most mind-blowing. So clean and yet so dirty. Almost no one ever achieves that kind of tone, where every note is on hot fire, yet nothing is weak, fuzzy, or over-processed sounding. The king.
Incredible techique! Smooth, clean, ultra-fast phrases. A mind blowing command of the fret board.. Michael is beyond incredible. Thanks for honouring Randy Rhoads Michael!
This guy has to be one of THE most flawless shredders out there alive today, the guy is soo fast, but yet his style is not just showboat, it also has direction!
This guy must have incredible dexterity. I could "practice, practice, practice" for 20 years and still not shred like this guy. Oh well, I'm gonna practice anyway. :)
That acoustic piece is awesome. Never would have thought he could also pull something like that off. Very nice, Michael, you're proving yourself more worthy every day to be counted amongst the top guitarists of all time.
Hard to believe this video was posted almost 16 years ago. It was this video and a performance of Yngwie Malmsteen’s Far Beyond the Sun that opened my eyes to what the guitar was capable of. At 32, this still amazes me. Especially the arpeggios during the Randy tribute. Still just as awesome as back then.
Awesome Michael! Met you many years ago(Birmingham UK) you signed my CD thanks dude👌 Bought a Dean Performer E that day which has served many live gigs and I’ve taught hundreds of students with, peace and all the best!👍🎸
this guy is beyond good...he's amazing. His technique is flawless, and he has feeling too!Anyone who would disrespect his music is jealous, no other way to put it. Like it or not, he is a real phenom.
WOW!! hes my new favorite guitarist!! and im glad put in "michael angelo" i wanted to watch watch a video on the ninja turtles but i got a super awsome guitarest!! yay!!
He is the greatest guitarist ive ever seen--I met him at a clinic at Blue Rock Guitars in Perry Iowa-He signed a poster and my guitar on the back of the head stock- I also had a picture taken with him while I was holding his double neck.---Best day of my life.
everytime i see batio work i learn something and even tho im just starting out he still makes me want to get at least 2% to his level thanks for posting.
I was surpised by beautiful, soft and slow jazz ballad played by MAB on accoustic guitar. I would like very much he composed and played more such songs, beside rock ofc.
fuck yeah, just got home from playing a show with this guy, my band opened up for him tonite! he is truely amazing, during the show he handed me a pick while he was playing (i was front row). fricken epic! batios the shit! lol
yeah i saw him live in wacken 3times at musikmesse frankfurt 2 times at musikproduktiv hausmesse and 1 time in musikproduktiv during a workshop .he is absolutly amazing!!
This is just too amazing, man I now regret that i left my guitar to finland, well i get it back in 3 days but still goddam, 3 days? thats forever without it.
Its nice to see shred master still appreciate the beauty of a nice acoustic song.:) I love shredding, but most of my favourite songs out there are acoustic.
I've seen this video for the first time like 5 years ago and still after 5 years I think that 5:23 arpeggios are the best, the cleanest and well-fitted into the composition arpeggios on the planet :)
Dude, don't give up. Use him as inspiration because that's how good we all will be one day atleast I will try and so should you, don't ever give upp dude maybe one day you're name will be on that billboard ranking under number one.
just amazing. i would play guitar everyday like he does but sometimes i'm just not in the mood. this guy really loves playing more than most guitarists and it shows
Nice interpretation of Deep Purple's "Burn"! Ritchie Blackmore would be proud! Then again, he's knee-deep in all this renaissance music now. It makes one wonder when was the last time he plugged a Fender Strat into a Marshall stack!
and on top of all his awesomeness he is a NICE person in RL too. no malmsteen-i-am-full-of-myself jackass. no, a funny, nice guy and always humble. this is what really defines his greatness. go MAB!
1:13 Mother of gods...
he is VERY underrated...He has got the skill, speed and melody.he should be on a G3 tour atleast once
16 years later.... you're still absolutely right.
I saw him there last year, it was ridiculous, he literally performs everything live at studio quality level - not a single mistake or slightly dirty note.
The acoustic section, couldn't be more beautiful, it was amazing!!!!!
words can't describe how awesome that was...!!!
His fingers are laser guided. More accuracy than a CNC machine! Totally awesome!
