Hey if you want to back test even farther back on trading view. All you gotta do is use the replay tool to shave off dates and trading view will add more days ..bc it will only show you 2000 candles at a time...

I'm starting to feel hopeless, any advice for a struggling trader?
Your problem could be that your stop loss is way too close or you're watching your trades too much. Place it and walk away. Or you could just give up, trading isn't for everyone.

Instead they go a few pips in my direction, then go against me if when I try holding them. Also my entries could use a lot of improvement. Don't listen to TH-cam guys like this one, you're gonna lose money first and eventually you will figure it out. Try to find a mentor which is very difficult. But don't quit and do not invest to much the first year. Over trade and keep your analysis straight. One more thing, do not operate in lower time-frames. 15 min plus, 1hr or 4hr recommended. Good luck
Backtest is the key, I bet you don’t even back test the strategies, or even you don’t have one. I can see that you are just randomly enter the trade with reasons that you think is right but did not have any edge on the market. Take the opposite is not a strategy, this is not how trade works.

London opens at 5pm here which I found great trading forex but with a young family it just was chewing up my only family time I had. I’m now looking into trading NAS100 once New York opens but by the time I get an entry signal it could midnight/1am for example. My problem is I would like to move my stop loss once the trade gets to a certain level but because I’m still working full time it’s very difficult to stay up all morning waiting to move stoploss then going to work on little sleep. Question is: can I set the stop loss to automatically move at a certain price by itself using trailing stop or some feature on mt4?

Ahh, somebody who figured out the "ratio", although it is 30/150 for NAS100. If the previous high is 30 points from BO candle, it will come back to give you new entry at 30 points better. And TP generally is 150, so 30/150 almost the same as 25/125, but you will have almost no losses using 30/150 like this, I like 25/120 though as it is almost guaranteed to hit every day

Backtest is the key, I bet you don’t even back test the strategies, or even you don’t have one. I can see that you are just randomly enter the trade with reasons that you think is right but did not have any edge on the market. Take the opposite is not a strategy, this is not how trade works.
