It was rumored that a dragon was seen on Skagos. Balerion was the only dragon known to have died of old age, and he was 208. Cannibal was probably close to Vermithor’s age, which was around a hundred at the time of the dance. Cannibal would be dead for quite some time by the time of Game of Thrones.

“Sheep Stealer” is one of 3 wild dragons, and his story is pretty interesting. I guess as far as dragons go, his appearance was considered ugly. People didn’t like him, other dragons didn’t like him, so he was very lonely. He lived somewhere that wasn’t far from the reach of humans. This girl, named Nettles, was lived near where the dragon lived. As far as people go, she was considered ugly. Nettles wanted to meet “Sheep Stealer”, so she started bringing the dragon a sheep to eat every day. Sheep Stealer became more comfortable around her, and liked the food, so after a while of just feeding him sheep and petting him/sitting near him, he let Nettles ride him. And that’s how they became bonded. She is the only civilian in history to technically “own” a dragon.
She’s not the only civilian to own a dragon, Hugh Hammer was a blacksmith’s bastard who claimed Vermithor.

It is already confirmed that 3 largest dragons were balerion then vhagar and then vermithor. But the cannibal was larger than the sheep stealer who was bigger than silverwing and smaller than vermithor.
The cannibal was bigger than the sheepstealer. Making him the 4th largest dragon known during the dance of the dragon but as he did not participate in the war and just lived after that and surpassed the vermithor's age. So he might have grown bigger than vermithor. Balerion the black dead the only dragon died of old age was infected with those fire worms like the princess. So that might be the reason that he died. So it can be possible cannibal was still around got times and might have become big as vhagar or even larger

Cannibal the biggest dragon. I know balerion was the biggest tamed one and went to the harsh city and disappeared with his rider and came back some time later and very injured. Would be cool if the reason why he was injured was because of cannibal. Knocking him out the sky.idk but cannibal could have a cool back story. Maybe he started that grey scale disease from eating other dragons. Anyone attempting to ride or touch him would ultimately get infected and transmit it to others. With cannibals story, I feel like the only back story for him would be as follows -
I think The Cannibal was around since Old Valyria and escaped Old Valyria when the Doom event happened. His owners died in the event and he flew over to Westeros and no one was able to claim or tame him as his blood owners had all died. So he just lived off whatever was in Westeros and got larger and larger over time. He was probably angry and didnt have anyone to tame him, hence why he became a cannibal.

I really hope they confirm the Sea Snake X Cannibal secret bonding and the most wild and unruly storied non Targaryen dragon leaving Westeros after giving one last salute to his passed friend.
Also people think he would be dead by G.o.T due to "old age" but no dragon in good health has been reported to die of old age if I remember correctly, Balerions vitality was heavily sapped after his visit to Valerya and he had a chunk ripped out of him and he never really recovered.
A lot of people forget that. Balerion may have contracted parasites (like his rider did) on top of his wounds which were already bad, the untreated parasites would easily shorten his lifespan

Cannibal could've belonged to Corelys.
In the books Cannibal only left Westeros after Corelys passed away. He apparently appeared at his funeral giving a loud roar filled with fire as a salute before flying off.
Cannibal has no connection to Corlys outside of flying in the vicinity of his funeral. The idea that he saluted the Sea Snake is a later embellishment of the story.
Plus, Corlys has no Targaryen blood, and thus is not a dragonrider.

I think cannibal will be tamed by daemon because in the books at caraxes and vhagar fight both the dragon and the rider will gone be dead but only deamons body have not been found so he could come back later
I still think that maybe one person could have ridden him. He definitely would have killed even most Targaryens even if they tried but I still think there was one person out there who could have.

To all the people saying Jon will claim the cannibal, the cannibal is more than likely dead from old age by the time of GOT and even if he wasn't Jon already claimed one of Danies dragons which died so he take take a new dragon, unless they change that for the show.
Balerion is one of the few that died without being in battle...so we cant judge only by him that dragons die by that age.
