I'm just getting into hockey at age 29. I haven't had my first game yet, but watching these videos helps me understand the skill level I should try to match. Any advice when first learning how to play? I can skate well moving forward, but not backward. That's about it. lol
I started out by joining an adult "learn to play" session in my area. It taught some basics of skating and then incorporated in handling the puck, passing, shooting, etc. I then progressed through various beginner leagues and settling in around mostly C level competition.
man this looks like D level at most. not you specifically but just the overall lack of awareness and positioning and stick handling/protection on these dudes. good clips though keep playing bud
+vyse Ya, it's now listed as a C/D mix instead of C. There are some really good players in there, and then there's the newbies like me. :) The good ones tone it down a bit for the enjoyment of everyone else, which is nice.
+vyse FWIW, I recently went to a C level game here this past week, and it was a completely different group of guys playing at a much higher level than what you see here.
