Green Wall got me into esports and I would never love FPS games like I do without them creating the content they did especially for BO2 Much love for Hecz

@@unbelievablescenes Yea they were only known for COD and maybe slightly halo. That's about it lol. The csgo team has been dogshit since its inception.

The rivalry that Optic VS Complexity brought to E-sports during the BO2 days, THAT was COD! What a time to have been able to play and watch COD. For me, that era brought the most emotion to E-Sports and the COD scene. Loved it and to this day, I still tend to watch the old Cod champ matches from BO2 and I still get ampt!
I used to come home from school and watch Optic montage videos and then try and recreate them, even tried my hand at editing one for a competition. H3cz is an OG man, much respect to him for sticking to his guns
Being a inner city Hispanic kid I spent my teenage years watching optic and looking at hector as role model. I'm glad hes still thriving in what he loves
For a company already invested in esports, I'm surprised Immortals left Optic the way it did. Obviously, the ultimate goal was the League spot, but they paid for more than just that. I feel like there is no way they were only buying the league spot, another team had to have been willing to sell their spot for less. It felt like Immortals just assumed the brand would continue you on. They somehow forgot they aren't buying a company like coca cola. People are supporting Optic for Optic, it's not about what they sell, It was about the people in the org like Scump and Hecz.
Immortals didn't want an esports team and icon done right, they didn't want these big personalities or they would have offered and persuaded Hecz and crew the same way NRG did. They wanted the franchise spots in League and OWL so they can advertise something safe to sponsors and investors. Immortals isn't and never has been a grassroots team built on a passionate foundation, they bought themselves into the scene, which is why everyone on old Optic refused to even hear them out about offers to stay. NRG on the other did the opposite. They also bought themselves into the scene but as they weren't a household name, an "original" team in anything, they couldn't build themselves a big fanbase. They have the business side down, with money, leadership and connections, but no viewers. Suddenly Hecz, one of the most recognizable and experienced faces in esports with a great reputation amongst players and other teams, with a big and loyal fanbase in his backpack, appears in front of them. So they give him a shared leadership role to complete the puzzle. NRG is now run by two guys, one with a business background and one with a pure esports one. They have business connections, teams and most importantly, personalities and content people want to watch.
