If all the files are in the right place, it might be an issue with language. You can get glitches if you extract Japanese files on a non-Japanese computer. File names get scrambled and the computer can't find them. Another potential issue is that mmd can struggle with absolute directories. So if your file path looks like C:\Folder1\Folder2\Folder3\ModelFolder\tex.jpg, you may still get issues in mmd even if it's fine in the editor. Make the directory relative (starting from inside the model folder) instead of absolute
It's still not working for me; but the thing that's weird is it's only one texture not showing up. everything else is fine; I have this black sunglasses rim that looks good in PMX, but when I open it in MMD, it becomes white. It looks like the toon and sph stay though..
@@dunsparmy Sometimes toon and spa files don't play nice with mmd/certain effects. Try deleting them, save a new copy of the glasses, and see if the colour will work then

Just wanted to say thanks. I had the first scenario issue. So moving the texture files to The same folder as my model file fixed it for me. So thank you.
@@tiantian5693 if it's the same kind of models that have the problems, it might have to do with how they're made. But yeah, checking the directory path is the way to go first, especially if you're moving files (when I moved my files to a different hard drive, nothing would work until I changed the C:\ to F:\, for example. Check all the little things like that) Also check it's not looking for the files in the wrong folder (if your path is something like C:\MMD\Model_name\file_name, but it's looking for them in Model_name\tex\file_name, it won't work)
What if, for example, you've just downloaded and extracted a model but the textures are missing in the file (Japanese) you extracted? Whenever I download some particular mmd models, there's no texture in the file. The only texture in the file are other facial expression, no skin texture, just that. I'm having this issue with some hololive mmd models (official mmd)
Thank you so much for the help! I tried to fix this on my own but all the guides had versions of MMD that are so old, that i can't use them for help. So again, thank you.
I have a slightly different version of this glitch... I loaded a model in and all the textures looked perfect, but then I attached an effect to the model and it TURNED white. I can't figure out how to reverse it, and I can't find any tutorials on how to fix this. Any ideas?
I have a question, I have a different issue but it's a glitch. One of my models when dancing, he has a leather coat on and the zipper and pockets become stretched and pointy while dancing? How do you fix this and what could cause this?

MMD should be able to read .tga files. Do you have pmx editor? Open the model and have a look at the texture path directory. It may not be set correctly
So I'm unsure about what's wrong with some of the models I've got. It's two Neptunia Models, 5pb and her guitar. Every single one of the neptunia models that I got from a neptuina model pack stay bright and I want to fix that starting with 5pb because she was at the top of the model list for the pack. The model itself loads but the textures aren't loaded and I don't know why. I checked the other models and they loaded just fine in the editor, not a single error in the model's textures at all. But 5pb and her guitar become the void itself with the faint outline of the models being the only indication that they're there. So some help would be appreciated.
Is there anything different about the 5pb model and the models that work? Are the file names in the materials tab correct? For example, if you've got a file called face.jpg, but the model is looking for face.png, it won't work even if it's in the right folder. Change the filename in the material tab to .jpg and it will in this case Or, if it's looking for the materials in a /tex folder, but you've got them in the main folder (or vice versa), it won't work either.
