This is such an incredible example of live music and playing funk. There are so many subtle and unseen skills in play to make it feel so great. Unbelievable decision making!
It's incredible how I've been a fan for six years now, saw their sold out show at MSG, and am STILL discovering new incredible recordings. Vulf is literally the greatest band ever. It's unfathomable how funky and tight they are. Wow.
I'm just begging to explore the bass, and this is the first time that I have felt, "The Groove". I'm so grateful for this wonderful soul changing/transcendental music.
I found this a few weeks ago and I've watched it many times since then, but somehow I only noticed today that the melody Jack plays to end the performance at 7:02 is the melody from Barbara. Nice.
Esto es una joya, INCREÍBLE! It Gets Funkier de Vulfpeck, pero en una versión brutal, y te mete de seguidas I Wish de Stevie Wonder sin esperarlo. Hala, ahí, pa que te lo comas... Lloro de no haber estado allí :D
Damn my profile pic is me playing at this exact same place. Rip tonic room as well as its later version, golden dagger. Hopefully the u of i sports bar it is now fails and it becomes the amazing music venue it always was.
Some say that to this day it still has not gotten funkier than this
It hasn't
they tried, but it’s impossible
Peak funkiness achieved
But….but but….but they said…it…..it gets funkier 😭
This is the best version they’ve ever done and everyone should see this
Thanks for already saying what I was too speechless to write
Joe teasing the audience with that 'I Wish' bassline.
It's so fucking satisfying when they go into I Wish after building it up
@@steveothebassist such a simple but pleasing groove
I think the right word is ‘edging.’ Joe edging the audience with that bass line
this is the result of a 10/10 solid bassist in your band
That would be joe dart on the joe dart bass
Truth!
my brain just pissed on the floor trying to process this

Eerily, unfathomably, impossibly tight. Especially their whole "we dont really rehearse" thing.
My favorite Vulfpeck song AND my favorite Stevie Wonder song. It's like two fortunes in one cookie
Me too!
The "Oh ma Gad" by that incredibley midwest women. I felt that.
Holy grail of funk. Still holds up three years after it happened

Woodys face at 5:30 he knows how good that Stevie hook is
Woody and Jack didn’t need to go that hard on that deep-fried 8-bit intro, but they did, and we’re all funkier for their having done it
holy shit.
holy shit is right.

Ramsey Adam Clark you go boy
4:05 Woody almost goes into the chorus just when Theo starts to sing the first verse
get eem
6:14 what a slick save by Joe Dart about to head into the chorus and then slides back into the verse lol
That transition was sooo satisfying

The BOYS
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
So here we have 3 legends wearing glasses, and Joe pre-sunnies. Bloody legends all of them.
I watch this video like everyday thanks for capturing this
7:03 is that the Barbara riff? ❤❤
On my 10th birthday, this was special 😢
thank you very much for filming and posting this, because it really can´t get funkier than that
To whoever was at NSJ 24, YOU KNOW HIT THIS!
Jack's hands are really fast
Guys. Seriously.

Hey TH-cam : Can I have a second like button? I have at least 2 thumbs
Jack's keyboard solo is so good
I feel like everyone in the band got a little bit cooler after Joe Dart started wearing sunglasses all the time.
holy fuck joe
Woody wins this version. Theo in last.
Dammnnnnnn! That fucking DROP!!! 😆
god bless you @lukeyduke89 !!!
