    • @bjeanty2452
      @bjeanty2452 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mounir9899 it is bullshit but not if you don’t have the proper mind to muscle connection (most people don’t). You have to develop a strong mind muscle connection with your late and arms before you start doing explosive reps, otherwise your form will quickly go to shit. Before doing weighted pull ups Austin did a lot of static and slow pull up work to perfect his form in the movement, so when he does explosive reps he’s recruiting all the right muscles thanks to the foundational connection he built. Most people jump into explosive training without building that foundation and end up with a shit ton of muscle imbalances.
      Develop proper MMC first, then move to explosive reps. Apply that philosophy with every movement.

    I started weighted calisthenics about a year ago but never looked into a chain style belt. I first started out holding a 45lb plate with my thighs, which is also the best way to do weighted leg raises (windshield wipers/around the world's). I ended up using a nylon strap to better control the length of how low the plates hang. I keep them close and not low. I'm up to 6x45lb plates, had to get creative on hanging them.

    Tip starts @3:30
    The tip is basically “doing full range of motion”
    Also; he mentions slow reps vs fast reps. He forgot to mention that
    Both have benefits. but he prefers fast reps
    Slow reps > if you can do 10+ reps
    Fast reps > if you can only do 3-6 reps
    He also mentions Progressive overload, which btw, is not the only way you can build muscle.

    • @chriswatts9227
      @chriswatts9227 4 ปีที่แล้ว +13

    Be explosive, make sure your grip doesn't slip, keep the elbows tight (close to each other), keep the weight as close to your body as possible to reduce swinging in the weight which one will then have to compensate for.

    Actually if you do it slow you tear more fiber aka get more damage into the muscle so it would be the opposite but need very good form and no rest for that to work

    If your goals muscle hypertrophy would you still recommend this? I go slowly on reps and use 10kg’s for my pull-ups. Hitting roughly 11 reps my first set. Maybe I could include a strength workout once a week similar to this, then the one I’m currently doing. What’s your thoughts?

    6:11 Our muscles are actually weakest in the most contracted position, same as when stretched. So the statement "the tighter you keep, the stronger you are" isn't really correct... I prefer to take a vider grip since it shortens the range of motion and lets your muscles work in their strongest positions. Thanks for the video anyway!

    Hi, I think i developed some serious muscle imbalances when I trained weighted pull ups before. I did weighted pull ups and dips for over a year straight.
    My upper traps are super overactive/tight/knotted, which has given me huge headaches for the past 2 years. I'm trying to train my mid and lower traps to take load off of the upper traps, but it doesn't seem to be helping. Any advice?

      Sounds like you need to do squats and deadlifts. That's the only way to workout the lower back.

    • @akiraperera9574
      @akiraperera9574 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lululx3760 True, but he advocates heavy pull ups pretty often. There doesn't seem to be some allround balance to his routines. It's also very rare for guys to be strong at weighted pull ups. So whatever else he's doing must be keeping some kind of healthy balance, which I'm clearly missing.

    • @akiraperera9574
      @akiraperera9574 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nerychristian I was planning on doing so. From what I wrote before, does it sound like something deadlifts and squats could fix it? All round muscle development right, to plug weak muscles. I was refraining from doing so as it would add leg mass, which would make my calisthenics less impressive haha. I was afraid of issues like this, I also did nordic curls. But its pretty clear that compounds hit a ton of muscles. What do you think?
      So far, I'm lacking mobilty for both squats and deadlifts.
