I was 12, living in St. Thomas and went home this summer because we were moving to New York the following summer, so one last trip home before we left. And maaaaaaaan, I had fun. I was in attendance and did the entire carnival that year BY MYSELF. Big tings!!!! I had fun. I followed/jam behind this band all the way pass dem house, where they shouted out their Mom. Yo, I still get chills. The BEST BAND in the world. They changed the game. Even St. Thomas artist Jam Band and Seventeen, practically the entire Caribbean/Calypso change because of ANTIGUA. They are the Bob Marley, Beatles, RUN DMC, you name the top in any game and there lies OUR BURNING FLAMES
Woww. What a band. Such wonderful memories. This band took St Lucia by storm. During Carnival season back in the late 80’s, they came to St Lucia and put on concerts for us school kids. Those days were some of the best that my friends and I ever had. Thank you Burning Flames. Thanks from all the students of St Mary’s College, St Joseph’s Convent, CCSS, Leon Hess, Entrepot, Corinth, VFort, Soufriere and all other students who attended those mid afternoon concerts back in those days. RIP to all of your fallen. They will never be forgotten. Thanks for the great times and the wonderful memories. You guys are LEGENDS4LIFE. #thecaribbeansgreatestband
The smell of popcorn and BBQ chicken the way sound system hit your chest ….that’s when carnival was actually in the air…….. not to mention the snow cone. 90’s got the best of the last….
I remember I was in Antigua one year an last lap jam from town straight a pottas ( potters ) I had great carnival that year Jouvert I was on top the truck I even went to two of these event
All ahwe min deh! Burning Flames, our number 1. Had to wait til Labor Day on Eastern Pwky in Brooklyn, to see them after dat. Close but no cigar, Antigua was a totally different ballgame. Yo, me min in dat last lap too!
I was there, woke up in the back of a Toyota pickup with a few locals totaly wasted, got some street food and staggered home , happy days
