Before when there was no direct flights to Hong Kong with Cathay Pacific, I remember departing from Toronto, Canada, landing to Anchorage, Alaska for almost an hour to refuel the plane on its way to Hong Kong. From Hong Kong connecting to Bangkok, Thailand, and other time to Singapore. Cathay Pacific all the way! A wonderful airline! Thank you for all the teams of pilots to make it all happen!!
After watching a lot of heavies land at Anchorage on YT, Cathay Pacific consistently comes closest to the 1500 ft heavy aiming point of the touchdown zone of all the operators. I understand their training is long with an emphasis on precision. It shows.
Skipper Obet is knowledgeable and very professional. The Senior was his best... Skipper commented, "Nice landing" that was from the captain. Good job, cockpit crew.
My compliments to Capt.& Co pilot for the displaying and explained Cock pit views. Since i am a frequent national and International flier, its thrilled to watch the operation and smooth landing . Wish to fly under you Capt.Good luck 🎉🎉
Amazing video! btw the cockpit layout it's not the most ideal, the FO had to remove his hands from the throttle levers every time the captain set the flaps, on an equivalent plane, like the A380 the flaps and spoilers are waaay back.
@@TB-um1xz yeah, definetely it's gonna depend on who's operating the plane, by mere curiosity, is it mentioned on the crew manuals ? or during sim training the proper way to position the hands on the throttle levers?
Do you remember from the most recent 'golden age of flying promo' CX telling the world at it's than new 747 400's 'the shape of wings to come!' Long live the memory!
I drove a semi truck for 20 yrs. The truck had lots of switches and gauges..kinda overwhelming at first. But flying something like this...I don't know how they do it!
How I wish I could live in France. I wish my dream come true. I'm tired of living and thinking in France. Congratulations to those who live in it. I wish him peace always.❤I'm from Yemen 🇾🇪

747 still and always the Queen of the skies
Oh yes! Hope it will be around for several more decades!
Had the pleasure of flying on a Lufthansa -8i recently. What a great aircraft!

Those big 380’s are certainly bigger but in no way do they compare to the 747! The Queen!❤
Ye you're right 747's the queen of the sky, I love that plane but the KING 👑 of the sky is a380

Always good see Captain Mazinyi 🇿🇼 and crew in action. 🙌🏾
Agreed! Was great featuring him in our series!

Captain Obet! Great to see you in this extended format!
Beautiful aircraft, beautiful approach, professional crew and nicely filmed. Thank you for sharing.
Watching the Queen's shadow as it approaches touchdown is so so cool. As always, JP delivers the goods.
Great vibe in the crew, what a wonderful, calm Captain! Nice landing!

What a pleasure to watch Captain Obet and the crew in operation. Everything is so pinpoint clear and precise.

Probably the smoothest landing I've seen! Uau! 😎
Seeing the UPS 747 lining up at around 5 and a half minutes a couple miles ahead was a cool shot to watch.
Edit - 5:35
Great Crew, thank you!
Very professional

Great Video, Thanks to the crew for the explanations.
That was such a smooth landing that you couldn’t even feel it
748 has such a beautiful wing!
I didn't know the inboard leading edge flaps retract on touchdown. pretty cool
They retract on reverse thrust activation to be precise
@MrSchwabentier cool. Thanks for the info 🤙🏻
Does it also works on the B747-400?
@@ronaldjacobus9685 yes.
@MrSchwabentier then they come right back out when you stow them.
Wow, wonderful.👍👍👍👍
Thank you JP ❤😊
I like how calmly they go about their business.
Excèllent crew..very professional..
Great video.
Very nice 👍👌👏❤️
Smooth. 🛬
Nice flight, Thank you.
Love watching you fly boys

That's his choice. I have my hand and arm placement at a higher angle and never had an issue.

I like Cathay but LOVE Kalitta Air. Yay Connie!
Great video - thanks!

Wonderfull B747❤
Gotta watch their cholesterol levels with the amount of butter on that landing!
Captain Obet!
If I can just get myself on the 748, I’ll have flown nearly the whole fleet (including the SP but not the SR variants)🤞
Well done
Greetings to you all.. 🙂
3:27...Breitling Navitimer Chronograph.
I notice that too! It's a classic. Currently have an Omega PO chrono on my wrist.
Captain Obet the 🐐!!!
Smooth!
good pilots😊
Awesome!!
Imagine flying that thing and for a moment, seeing its shadow, being able to see what you're flying
I drove a semi truck for 20 yrs. The truck had lots of switches and gauges..kinda overwhelming at first. But flying something like this...I don't know how they do it!
Like 7 years of practice
Thought this was old clip?
Hi!!
Hello!
These two pilots are simply an awesome team.
This is not 747 Cathay Pacific. Its an airbus 320 of Aegean Airlines.
You trying to be funny or something? Cause you're doing a terrible job at it
Later!
i spy 747 8 UPS
😀
Looks like the two guys at my local 7-11.
