Forgotten "First Sleeper" Class of Pakistan Railways | Traveling From Lahore to Sargodha

Hello Everyone, Sorry for delayed upload. From last few days I was traveling and only got the time now to prepare and publish a video for you guys.
Today's video is very unique. It is like any ordinary train journey from Lahore to Sargodha. But what makes it different is the chance I got to travel in "First Sleeper" class of Pakistan Railways which used to be the luxury of past. It was luckily placed in my train, Mianwali Express.

No, we, as Pakistanies, are not stunned, its a step down for us. In 2005 a contract was signed for Underground railway (German and UK) for Karachi and Lahore on 20 year BOOT basis. But When Pervez Musharraf left, the politicians got this obsolete overhead system because they made commission out of it As in india. In BOOT getting cuTs and commission is very difficult if not impossible.

I used to travel in 1st Class Sleeper in my childhood because my father was in Railways and he got family pass for this class. AC lower and then Business Class replace this class. When I entered in professional life I used to travel in AC Sleeper. Since 2005 I used to travel by road in my personal car. But I still love to travel by train.

I have never travelled on this class but i remember it from my childhood, we used to travel in 4 person sleeper in tezgam. As a child it was my wish to travel in 6 person sleeper but it never happened. I travelled in train many times from Rwp to Karachi and return from my birth in 1991 till 2008. After that i switched to daewoo from 2008 to 2016 and in last 5 years i travel only by air. But trains give me all those childhood golden memories. Air travel and daewoo gives you zero memories, but every train journey can produce a safarnama. 😊

That's the beauty of it in india and Pakistan. Old classic architecture, just like as in Europe.... When Khawaja Saad was Minister he employed architects and the Archaeology Dept. personal to keep older themes, all the while upgrading them. The current Railway Minister upholds the same.
