Very excellent video. Helpful. I had a transport chair picked out, but never paid attention to the different brakes or back wheels. Thank you!

Why, why, why is a transport chair 4 times the price of a wheelchair?

Why would someone want a transport chair ?

Someone would want to use a transport chair if they were unable to push a standard wheelchair on their own. The benefits of choosing a transport chair in that instance is that they have a narrower overall width, since there are no large push wheels, so getting through doorways is easier. Then for the person putting the chair in and out of the car they are much lighter, and not to mention less expensive. So it's a great option if someone is absolutely sure they won't be self-propelling a wheelchair.

@@harmonyhomemedical thank you 😊 I was just wondering since I know the option I would go with is the self propelled chair because I am 11 and would like to go we’re I want but for older people or some one with a more limited budget or more sever disability that would be a good idea thank you ☺️

My husband has balance problems, so he needs help getting from the car to the office building and back...he is able to move around with help but the transport chair takes the fear of the concrete parking lot from us.
