Really like the depth of wood color shade on those grips which complements the bright of the aluminum grip frame and that in turn contrasts the dark cylinder and barrel. Those smooth grips make me think of my Blackhawk Bisley with Rosewood grips, smooth, not slippery so still nice solid grip. Good thing you have that Ruger, it will keep any rascals from robbing that train on your yard….lol.Thanks, sir
I think it’s great that you show what you are doing and maybe encourage others to do some experimenting of their own. I always seem to be narrowing Ruger grips these days and cleaning up sharp edges. Great job.
That riund butt great. The point on the grip has got my hand more than once, those 45 Colt Ruger is my favorite guns. They go from a mouse gun to a moose gun. Nicely done. You'll always have some pride in that gun when you pick it up
Thank you. In some ways, I wish I'd taken a bit more off the tail for looks, but I'll re-visit that when I get the block of much fancier walnut Snapper has sent me.

I love it. The silver looks good and the shape looks good. Excellent job on the grips. Nothing like doing a few things to a gun you already own and make it feel like you have something new.
Looks quite decent well done something making the gun a little better, it's always about personalizing an item to make it suit better apples and oranges.
Watched this vid again. I have a blue Blackhawk 41 mag 6" that has the internal lock and the spring strut has broken. Only way to fix it is to replace the grip frame. Thought about a Bisley frame and hammer but after seeing what you did im gunna go the same route with aluminum frame. Gunna round the butt edges and leave it in the white. I really like the whole idea , thanks.
That looks pretty doggone good to me. I opted to fit my Blackhawk with the Super Blackhawk stainless steel Hunter grip frame. It’s a 5 1/2 inch new model Blackhawk in 45 Colt. The silver/blue color combo look great together. The blue and polished silver give these sixguns a unique custom look. I decided to go with the stainless because of the weight. I’ve always preferred a heavier piece. I did the grip panels with elkhorn.
I think you did a great job, the satin finish on the grip frame looks great on the blued gun. I really like the grips, the finish is perfect for that gun and rounding the bottom of the grip frame was a great idea.
Nice job. I have seen a Ruger Bisley made into a round butt with a lanyard loop on the bottom. I thought that was cool as well. It's great when guys personalize their weapons. Thanks for another great video!

I have a flattop 44 special with the 4 5/8 barrel and have been really thinking hard about a no 5 grip frame from Ronnie wells but everyone keeps saying that it's too small. I know he makes larger versions but I can't put one in my hands to try before I spend grocery money on it. So I will keep the plow grip for now until I can't stand to wait anymore.
I like your work. I have a flat top unconverted 3 screw Ruger 44. That gun is really nice. If you decide to customize another revolver check out the 3 screws. Maybe one that has already been modified. I bought mine to have it customized it as the pics on GB made it look rusted. Once I picked it up from my ffl there was no rust, just dirty fingerprints. So I didn't want to customize it.
Nice work on the grips, like the flat bottom. The bigger threat down here is not the grizzlies but the Alabama White Thang. It has been spotted and reported several times in eastern side of the state.
That looks great! Good job on the grips! I read through the comments and saw a recommendation of vinegar already for removing bluing. I might also suggest Naval Jelly. It will remove bluing for sure, I'm just not sure what effect on the aluminum. Boiled linseed oil is my favorite for grips an knife scales. Great job, Plowboy!

I kinda like it. The Plowboys Grip? I like that you ended the video with a fade as you reinserted the first round back into the chamber.
