Now that's how fast Wimbledon was back then. I guess if the speed was same, our dear delpo might have had a chance to win at least one wimby😢. His first strike tennis was spectacular. These matches remind me of federer vs sampras In Wimbledon. So fast and only one serve and shot was enough to dictate the point.
I love that Fed not only had his revenge against Nadal at the beginning of 2017, but also his record against Delpo at Basel at the end of the year as well.
Delpo was not only a nightmare for Federer at ATO Level. Fed will never forget the defeat at the Uso final. And so many battles at RG and Olympcis. Eternal Delpo
Del Potro had the ability at times to take the racket out of Roger's hand with his great serving, backed by that legendary forehand. Those two left us with multiple next-level matches to revisit on YT. Great vid! Great memories!
It says a lot about how good Del Potro was that a lot of people still think of him as a "what if" in regards to all the injuries the poor guy suffered. This is a guy who came back from multiple serious injuries to reach Grand Slam semi finals and finals, win Masters, win Olympic bronze and gold medals even with a backhand that was essentially ruined by wrist injuries.
@jonathanb1406 Precisely Jonathan! Delpo, like Roger, was a fierce competitor on the courts but, was easily one of the most liked and popular guys in the locker room and tour! His retirement was definitely heartfelt!
@@edkiely2712 Yeah, I don't know any tennis fan who doesn't have a big soft spot for Del Potro. He was so fun to watch and just seems like a really good guy. One of those players who just had the ability to always be a real threat to the big three (four) when he was really firing too. Miss watching him play.
Defeating Federer twice at HOME on INDOOR is no joke
remarkable !

Delpo would have been world no 1
Potentially Del Potro was as good as the big three. Unfortunately one error too many by him prevented him achieving what he deserved
First match was a f*cking war
peRFect.

Many don't even discuss that 2012 Olympics match- next-level! 4.5hrs, and a 19-17 3rd set! Amazing match!
Indeed. Federer and Delpo gave us so many battles. Missing both
Delpo can do so much damage on Federer. ATK level 100...
delpo atk and def on 100%, fed made some bad choice of shots as well
GOAT
Delpo and Safin were beasts...unfortunately men their size are injury prone in tennis, especially knees and hips.
