While never having had the opportunity to listen to them live, I've listened to Bhai Prithipal Singh Ji's youngest brother Bhai Kishanpal Singh Ji on many occasions during his visit to Malaysia and it was amazing. Please check on youtube, there is a video of Bhai Mohanpal performing kirtan at Bhai Prithipal's bhog ceremony in 1993. Bhai Mohanpal joined Bhai Shamsher Singh for a tour to US and Canada in the 80s, not because Bhai Prithipal passed away. They used to sing with each other frequently. Similarly Bhai Kishanpal came to Malaysia with Bhai Hariqbal in 1992 and 1993 whereas he also did kirtan with Bhai Mohanpal in 1993 and 1994. I have those recordings.

Here is the more info about raga.. Raag Kedaaraa is a very ancient and famous raag of Indian music. From this, it is clear that this raag has an important place in Gurumat Sangeet. Kedaaraa raag continues to be an integral part of Indian music. This raag is not counted in the very difficult and complitcated raags but it is included in the category of very simple and easy raags.
Keya baat hai? Its really amazing and specially Jindi brother you were so young but playing Tabla so well..We don't get to listen to this type of kirtan in raagas anymore so you have to find old tapes or recordings. Please try find some more..
Jawaddi Taksal, I am obliged for you uploading this precious recording - the great traditional classical singing of Gurbaani in the same raag that Guru ji stipulated. Listening to this divine kirtan, from the souls drenched with Guru's celestial love, gives a blissful experience of Sachkhand. I would not have recognized the Tabla player, our Jindi Bhai Sahib who is truly blessed to acquire this heritage of Kirtan. Houston’s sikh sangat is very fortunate to have him in their Sikh Center Gurdwara.
Since they were all family it was common for them to sing with one or another at different times. There were instances in which Bhai Prithipal, Mohanpal and Kishanpal sang together as well.

I've learnt the different style of Alaaps by them in all saptaks from mandar to taar saptak, with wonderfull and Sehaj usage of shudh raag swaroop. Bhai Prithipal Singh passed away in 1993 if I am not mistaken. In this video Bhai Mohanpal is in the center while Bhai Prithipal is sitting beside him.
While this is an amazing musical composition, this is NOT the original style of Gurbani Kirtan. Original style is usually Dhrupad. Also the taal's pace does not increase in stages as the compositions progress. Taans & taraanas are not used in original Dhrupad style. Sargam taan is also not seen in Dhrupad. The Shabad of the Guru is given more importance rather than musical expertise.

Har Har Har Gun Gaavo, very beautiful Shabad written by 5th Guru in Raag Kedar.
It’s awesome to hear this shabad in same Raag with beautiful performance of Bhai Prithipal Singh ji. On top of that, this Raag sang in night by this Jatha, which is the perfect match of all above three combinations. I can only assume that how much peace and Beraag the Sangat might have observed.

Here is the more info about raga.. Raag Kedaaraa is a very ancient and famous raag of Indian music. From this, it is clear that this raag has an important place in Gurumat Sangeet. Kedaaraa raag continues to be an integral part of Indian music. This raag is not counted in the very difficult and complitcated raags but it is included in the category of very simple and easy raags.
Keya baat hai? Its really amazing and specially Jindi brother you were so young but playing Tabla so well..We don't get to listen to this type of kirtan in raagas anymore so you have to find old tapes or recordings. Please try find some more..

Jawaddi Taksal, I am obliged for you uploading this precious recording - the great traditional classical singing of Gurbaani in the same raag that Guru ji stipulated. Listening to this divine kirtan, from the souls drenched with Guru's celestial love, gives a blissful experience of Sachkhand. I would not have recognized the Tabla player, our Jindi Bhai Sahib who is truly blessed to acquire this heritage of Kirtan. Houston’s sikh sangat is very fortunate to have him in their Sikh Center Gurdwara.

Since they were all family it was common for them to sing with one or another at different times. There were instances in which Bhai Prithipal, Mohanpal and Kishanpal sang together as well.

I've learnt the different style of Alaaps by them in all saptaks from mandar to taar saptak, with wonderfull and Sehaj usage of shudh raag swaroop. Moving from madhya laya to drut and ati drut is amazing as the shabad enters from one stanza to another stanza..

Bhai Prithipal Singh passed away in 1993 if I am not mistaken. In this video Bhai Mohanpal is in the center while Bhai Prithipal is sitting beside him.
Hardeep Singh, I confirmed from Jindi Ji Son of Bhai Prithipal Singh ji.
He was alive and did kirtan. He died later.
While this is an amazing musical composition, this is NOT the original style of Gurbani Kirtan. Original style is usually Dhrupad. Also the taal's pace does not increase in stages as the compositions progress. Taans & taraanas are not used in original Dhrupad style. Sargam taan is also not seen in Dhrupad. The Shabad of the Guru is given more importance rather than musical expertise.
