I have just recently found your videos and find them extremely informative so thanks so much! I have learned a lot from them. I havent heard you mention what you are painting on so I wondered if it is a paper? I see it taped so Im guessing it is. Thanks.

Thank you! I cut sheets of oil-primed linen from a roll of linen and tape them onto a piece of hardboard. Easy storage and cheaper than panels.

Jason, How do you mount your canvas after painting as I assume it is a canvas or linen taped to the board. Over stretchers after drying or glued to a board?

I usually don't mount it. Easier to store since they are just sketches.

I have not watched an art video before that does not finish a painting. And said to see the rest you have become a paying member.

Sorry to disappoint. My earlier videos were, and still are shown to the public in their entirety for free. But when you spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars on materials, equipment and editing software, drag all that stuff into the field, spend hours editing, only to have TH-cam pay you about $80/month even when your subscribership and viewship has gone up, you come to the realization that you could make more money working at K-Mart for 1980's wages. So then you either stop doing it because it isn't worth it, or find another way to get compensated. I went with plan B because I I like doing it and have a family to feed. And if I'm going to put this much effort into something, I need to be compensated. Wouldn't you want the same? And I don't think that $2.50 for a full-lengh, non-time-lapsed plein air video with commentary is much to ask.
