Established in 1874, Baker City has a rich history of mining, railroads and Oregon Trail lore. You can learn more at: westernminingh... #nomadicmadman #bakercityoregon #oregon #oregontrail
Great Video. I am a Baker City resident. You caught a great look at downtown and the historic District. moved here in 2005. From Boise. My folks moved here in 1981. The metal animals showed up in 2016??? Art Roamers. Fun add to our little city. You were almost on their retail door step, when at Court Plaza, near the "Salt Lick" sculpture. To really enjoy and get a good vibe of this place, come back the 3rd weekend in July. Miners Jublie. Lots to see and learn about our mining histoty. Thanks for sharing your video!
Baker has changed a lot yet there's still a lot of stuff from when I was a child. I was born in 1945 and I left there when I joined the army when I was 18 in 1963..
Roman numeral nerd here. The '1903' carved into the City Hall's stone (0:56) is incorrect. It should be MCMIII and not MDCCCCIII. Happily, while beholding the building's overall beauty, nobody but a roman numeral wonk like me is going to notice. 😄 Baker City is a pretty town.
they have a minimum security prison there that grows it own fruits and veggys and is taken care of by the inmates, every Friday i would go clean the library
For young people unless they're into sports is a bad bad place to grow up . Nothing to do except drive your car up and down the main streets. Hope that'll band would come to the armory for what the hell for dances.
California-style street art is the first sign of a failing economy. Going from a strong resource-based economy to artsy/tourist shoe-shine economy never works. At least I didn't see a stuffed figure in a rocking chair playing a violin like infest small dying California coastal towns.
I spent time in Baker City. It is one of the extreme right-wing towns you will find. Hence, they are doomed to fail. Everyone talks politics, wears political shirts and hats. They are always about lunatic fringe thoughts. Beautiful downtown that will not realize its potential because right-wingers are too short-sighted and cheap.
I live in Baker and LOVE it. Such a beautiful area of Oregon. Especially if you love hunting and fishing.
Do a lot of the blazers live in Baker?... that would make sense if they're the blazing blazers...!

Baker City, LaGrande, Halfway, Praire City, John Day. Beautiful country.
I drive Hood River to Ontario often and love swinging through these towns.

Thank you for portraying my little town in such a beautiful way!
You are welcome. Someday I plan to return and spend more time.
You captured the beauty of this little town so well
Two of the most interesting features of Baker - Leo Adler House and Geiser Park
The Baker Valley It is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL AREA
Thanks, I will look into those. I think I saw the museum as I was leaving.
Baker City is usually my first overnight stop on drives between Puget Sound and the Four Corners.

Hey thats where i live
All that stone and brick will fall like leaves in a wind if there was an eq.
Baker is a retirement town. Most young people fled the place to find jobs cuz there's not many there. That's why I joined the army.
There's no people, thats very creepy.
They're probably at work. I'll bet it's busier on weekends
you're coming in from 7 - did you go to Sumpter ?
No, I didn't. I just found it on the map and see a lot of interesting places around there.
For young people unless they're into sports is a bad bad place to grow up

Sorry, but I disagree. The art scene brings in many people. It makes Baker City special!
