I got my Phantom 2+ stuck in a tree, after bringing it down, the camera was tilted the same way. This made understanding the level so much easier... Thank you. I look for information on the P2+ all the time. Extremely helpful... Again, thank you.
I am stuck in the middle of the judean desert at sundown and my stupid gimbal tilts to the right!!!! I wish you were here!!! I am so sick of the issues and will us this when I get back. Thanks so much for the video.
It worked. Thank you. Saw plenty of people that have this problem, and it solved it for me. I will forward your video to anyone that has this problem. I am guessing that this will happen periodically and will need to adjust it again in the future. This is brilliant. Can't thank you enough.
THANK YOU SOOO MUCH You saved me 700 dollars I had crashed my drone bent the arm and had severe tilt on horizon. I fooled the servo motors using your video and all is perfect now . watch out for the inner ribbon tho, it came away far too easily while the side one never did.
Thank you so much! After a crash my Vision + camera is at a slight tilt, I didn't want to send it back to get it repaired, I was just going to live with it. Thanks to you I can fix it myself.
Thank you for sharing, mine was off by about 30 degrees, took the back off and lightly moved the circuit board out... no screwdrivers, and adjusted it. It's great now, thanks again. I might have never taken it apart had I not view your video. I feel like I saved $$$ and alot of down time.
You Don is a life saver!!! Thank you very much! It worked for me. Very very simple and the DJI cant even tell you what is wrong. I bet they don't even know it
Much better explaination then the rest,,and makes a whole lot more sence...Keep in mind that if you forget to take the plastic retainer off,,this could cause the camera shaft to move slightly..if done a number of times,,forgetting to take it off,,it would throw out the camera shaft big time......
Great Video Brother. All I did was remove the back plate and then turned the phantom on and it corrected itself. I used the vision 2+ app and was able to control the tilt again ;) I DID NOT REMOVE THE SMALL CIRCUIT BOARD. I did not want to mess with that ribbon. I guess removing the back plate on the camera reset the weight or release some pressure from the back plate on the camera and that little screw Don was turning. I did the fix tonight so I could not test it during a flight. But I did roam around my house with it moving it all over the place and it seems as though, I'M GOOD TO GO!!! Will update tomorrow and share your video with other vision 2+ pilots.
thank you! This worked to straighten out my dji3 after a small crash. It was crooked at each start up and IMU didnt fix it and auto calibration only worked per flight. This was a simple permanent fix...just a little tricky getting that cable in. The dji3 pro is the exact same except it has two extra screws. ...anyways...thanks again.
Excellent video! I have a drone shop and get so many people that come in with damaged and uneven gimbals on their P2V+s' and Ive always tried to find a way (online) to somehow calibrate the gimbal and get it back even but from what Ive read, there is no gimbal calibration process for the P2V+ and DJI doesnt offer individual repair parts for the gimbal/camera system. I feel so bad telling customers they need to replace the entire $600 unit! After watching your video however there may be hope for some of them! Thanks again for the info! Ryan
Tizzflightops It did not come that way I had it in its box and taking it down a rough trail in CO to get some mountain shots when I took it out I saw that the Gimbal lock came off. When I started it up thats when i noticed it was off center. So it happened in its box from the rough ride.
Awesome,,, thank you so much,,, I have been looking for a gimbal correction video for weeks,,,, done so many calibrations i can't count anymore... will try this asap !
This shows pretty good what I need to do with mine this week. I will report back. Mine is off about 30 degrees off to the left right now and need to adjust it.
Thanks for the instruction. Does it also works for the Zenmuse H3-2D on my Phantom 2 because my gimbal is also a little out of whack in the horizontal axis?
Hola, cómo pudiste arreglarlo? yo tengo el mismo problema luego de una caída, hice lo de la alineación del eje pero no pasa nada, queda igual. Me podrías decir cómo lo hiciste por favor?
It worked!!! My drone is in recovery after the surgery, thanks for this video i was freaking out. There's no way these guys are doing it right, the shaft and camera should be easy to align unless someone crazy-glued it in china when it was made dunno...
Well done! I have had the same issue. Also had a broken cable and a broken clamp. Some hobby stores may supply you with discarded parts as there seem to be lots of damaged cameras. Do you have a solution for the "death spasms" whereby the camera jerks all over the place?
Hi, Thanks for sharing this wonderful video. By the way, is it the same method for restoring Zenmuse HD-3D? Broke my 3rd Zenmuse gimbal, so i thought of harnessing parts from all 3 gimbals, finally finished assembling using several different parts from all three gimbals. Now on startup the gimbal just seems to go crazy and out of control, making grinding noises, moving on all axis, its just acting haywire. Checked all the hex screws, they are all tightened, did factory reset by shorting two points on the main board, updated to the latest firmware. Just don't know what to do, i just don't want to go and waste another 300$ for a new zenmuse. After watching your video, i think it has something to do with the position of those Potentiometers.
This video seems to have been very helpful to most of the guys having the same issue. Did exactly how you showed it and glued the shaft but the gimbal still goes crazy when I start it up. any thoughts? Thanks!
Thanks for sharing this, but if it's so loose that you can literally twist it with your finger, why do you think that the camera won't just twist off-centered again next time you pop on/off the gimbal protector or go for a flight?
My camera flops all around and seen other videos with same problem. I did the suppose fix but still have same problem. My phantom was about 10 feet off the ground and the camera started dancing around and caused the crash. Like I said I did what you did and it sounds like something else is wrong. I've only flown about 5 times. I think I'm going to call and send back. This phantom vision 2 plus was purchased last month but was only taken outside no more than five times. I'm wondering how we know if we are getting a new Phantom or rebuild. The box was not shrink packed in plastic like many items bought.
You can send it in to me and I will replace the potentiometers in it... I charge $100 unless its all bent up. Check out my facebook page. facebook.com/USdronerepair
Great advice. My problem is I have to do it after every time I take it out. Is there a way to stiffen it up while straightening it so it doesn't have to be re-leveled all the time.
Hey @Tony Goss and @Steve Downing, I know you faced this issue so long ago, but could you tell me if you got it fixed and how? I'm also having to do this adjustment before EVERY SINGLE FLIGHT !
Hello! I had the same problem as you with my phantom 2 vision plus and I did exactly what you did, it worked! The camera was level again! But after the next flight I had the same problem. I tried to fix it again like you did and the camera was level again. But after the next problem the problem was back. Do I really need to do this after every flight? ... Thanks :-)
It's not working with mine. I use a good plier, but it just won't move. I'm afraid to brake it when forcing more. Oh, and for the ribbon. There's a small black handle, make sure to unlock that one before removing the ribbon.
Please ask for help : I have a Phantom 2 Vision plus I had an accident and broke the camera and gimbal that came installed. Now buy a gimbal walkera 3D to install and a camera Xiaomi yi . I need to install it and therefore request please help installing these components in my phantom 2 Vision plus. Any information will be welcome to install the camera with WIFI FPV system already installed tine Phantom. From already thank you for the help.
***** Gday Mate, sorry no luck here, have resorted to either putting up with it or cropping and straightening in post. Look back to our first shots it looks like it has been crooked since day one.
Caleb Bloxham Yeah I've been trying all evening here and it's not moving. I'm afraid I might break it if I try any harder. I only got the Phantom about 3 weeks ago. Might contact my supplier to see what they say. Thanks for replying! I've been looking for answers all evening! :)
Caleb Bloxham Hi Caleb, just thought I'd update you on this. I eventually fixed mine just like this video said but I really had to force it to get it moved. A good strong set of pliers also helped :)
man i had the same issue in my gimbal, and i try your way.. no luck its still the same. i tried so many times but still the same .crazy movments. any other hints guy..???
Omar have you had any luck? I followed this tutorial and have tried and tried and its looks as if it's all better at first power on then it reverts to crazy gimbal!

Thanks! I found that I did not have to remove the fragile ribbon connector. This video was very helpful.
Great Video! When pulling the ribbon cable, there is a tab that you flip up to easily remove it. Pulling the ribbon cable may cause damage to it.
Quick and easy re-calibration. Thanks

Thanks for the information, I had the same problem, and now my gimbal is working very well.
Thank you for this video. You helped me out a lot. You also save me some money on a repair shop.
Thank you very much!!!!!! Very helpful the video!!!!!!! Now my Phantom is fix!!!!!
Congratulations!!!!
Thanks for the instruction. Does it also works for the Zenmuse H3-2D on my Phantom 2 because my gimbal is also a little out of whack in the horizontal axis?
Thank you! Would you happen to have a video on how to replace the ribbon?
Thank you very much. Your council very much helped me under repair.
Thanks a bunch. Worked like a charm
Thank you very much for sharing this. I fixed it following your excellent video
Good video, saved me at the right time
It worked!!!
My drone is in recovery after the surgery, thanks for this video i was freaking out.
There's no way these guys are doing it right, the shaft and camera should be easy to align unless someone crazy-glued it in china when it was made dunno...
Where can I order the orange colour ribbon. I changed the flex cable needed...the orange ribbon was severed also.
Dude. You just saved me 600 bucks. Thank you. :)
Well done! I have had the same issue. Also had a broken cable and a broken clamp. Some hobby stores may supply you with discarded parts as there seem to be lots of damaged cameras. Do you have a solution for the "death spasms" whereby the camera jerks all over the place?
Thats caused by a broken potentiometer that can easily be replaced. facebook.com/USdronerepair

Tony Goss Hey Tony did you get an answer..? I too have to undo screws every time I try to start up!
I have not got an answer.
Hey @Tony Goss and @Steve Downing, I know you faced this issue so long ago, but could you tell me if you got it fixed and how? I'm also having to do this adjustment before EVERY SINGLE FLIGHT !

+Phantom Gaming I got he same issue. Just can't twist it.
Well, that a change, we usually get bombarded with Ummm and errr on TH-cam. This time we got numerous Ommm's.

Thank you so much! I fix it by myself!
Thank you very much. :D
I tried this but can't get the shaft to budge at all. I put a fair bit of force on it and had a good grip with the pliers. Any ideas?
Hi Caleb, did you get the shaft moved on this. Mine won't budge either. Hope you can reply!
