- Zach Sobiech passed away one year ago on May 20th 2013. [Watch the original doc here: • Meet Zach Sobiech | My... ] Since then, extraordinary things have happened, not only for him and his beautiful music, but also for his spectacular family. While Zach's passing was incredibly difficult for each of them, somehow the Sobiech's have been able to find the joy, grace, and silver lining in it all. This inspiring documentary picks up one year after his passing, and follows his family, and friends as they adjust to life without their beloved Zach and each remember in their own way that, "you don't have to find out you’re dying, to start living."

I found this video while I was struggling with depression and anxiety... And it has brought me so much peace. I felt ashamed for thinking about giving up on life when there are people like Zach who were fighting so hard for more time. Thank you, Zach and the Sobiech family for sharing your story, you have inspired me in ways I never new it was possible.

Today marks a little over 2 years after posting the original message. To be honest, I had forgotten about posting this, and was only reminded of it after Cynthia Ponce and Tall_guy 123 replies.
A lot has changed: I have overcome the dark days of depression, and have been winning my battle over it. Life has started to be productive and colorful again.
We all know depression is a lifetime battle, so I know it's not over, but I have been making myself stronger :)
I cannot believe how much has changed over 2 years. And the changes started after watching this...!
Thank you again, Zach and the Sobiech family: for inspiring me and so many people, as I can see over the messages on this board. Zach's death still is heartbreaking, but it is truly amazing how many lives were touched because of it.
I send my love and my prayers you, Zach and Sobiech family! All I can say is: thank you. Thank you so much for this wonderful gift.

+dyk00 I hope you aren't still feeling ashamed. You fought a hard battle too. We each have our own struggles, and yours shouldn't be minimized. I'm so happy you're doing better. This is helping me too, as I continue to try to stomp depression and anxiety and deal with a chronic illness. I've felt much lower than this. I've been where you were too. A lot of people don't ever find their way out. Congratulations, and please remember to keep looking after yourself.
I am inspired by Zach too. What a beautiful soul with a tremendous voice! I'm sure his words continue to uplift many people.

I just found out yesterday my brother has hours/days .. there is nothing that can be done for him....He kept it hidden from the entire family.He has Hodgkin.. I have found a lot of comfort in Zach's song Clouds .. thank you for helping me through this tough time

Sach Zobieach battle with cancer is a testimony of someone’s great faith. It is in times like these in the mids of great odds u have to be steadfast, immovable, unwavering. Throughout has battle with this demon of a disease he enjoy every moment that he could spend with what was left of his life. With his family and friends on this journey. Zach, u my brother man. One day I want to meet u face to face. U have taught me how to stand in courage in the middle of adversity. Rest well my brother

I didn’t know about Zach until recently. So much admiration for him, his family and friends. Such courage in an unbelievably difficult situation. He handled it with such class and dignity. The movie “Clouds” that just came out was well done, too. I donated to the children’s cancer research after watching.

I really appreciate that you guys did a follow-up of the Sobiechs a year later. It's so easy to forget about those who were affected after the initial tragedy. Everyone else goes on with their normal lives after the fact. The family who has lost someone is missing a piece of what they knew as "normal" so going on with life as they knew it is impossible. As someone who has been the sibling of someone with cancer, I can relate. I think this is an awesome viewpoint and documentary. I really, really appreciate the reality of this video and how well made it is. Thank you!
Tears from beginning to end. I have followed the Sobiech family's story for quite some time now, and have been sharing the memorial page on Facebook with Zach's mom and daily am blessed and touched by what one young man has shared with the world. This video and the first, also by Soul Pancake, was orchestrated beautifully. How I wish it were days long, instead of minutes.
I wish the ending were different. What a genuinely honest soul...
We're playing Clouds for our Sunset Gala at my school, which is a huge concert and we ended up watching all of the Zach videos. Everyone cried. RIP Zach, your story inspired many people out there.

Man cancer is a mean little organism. When Clouds came out, I listened to it all the time. I cried for hours because I loved his song and his story. Zach, you are very badly missed.

The kid touched so many people and gave hope to so many people. We often wonder what our purpose is when we find out we’re dying and we feel so far from each other when we pass to the other side… but we can choose to be positive. We can choose to love.. we can choose hope and happiness.. and I know some question the after-life but I’m telling you it is there and I know that’s something to question… “how can you know.” Some people know. A beautiful soul is there.
Saw the movie on Disney plus. this been very inspiring and very sad. (I cried so much.) I never heard his story until now and his story is still thriving. 🙏🏻💕 he is in a wonderful place. Still praying for the family.

I suffer from a chronic illness that causes severe depression and suicidal thoughts. I have to get bloodwork done every 6 weeks to make sure I stay balanced and stable. I fight so hard but after watching these videos I’m going to fight even more to live and to participate in my life. I’ve been slowly losing my self but I have a 2.5 year old who is my reason to keep pressing on. Thank you for allowing me to see the strength these people had even in the midst of the storm.
To Zach's friends and especially his family, thank you for sharing Zach's story; it's your story as well. Zach showed us not only how to live but also how to die by living every moment. Peace to you all.

Grieving is your heart not letting go
I want to write something heartfelt but I can't summon the words right now. Zach was amazing, he's inspired me to try and make an impact on the world, to make it a better place and be kind to everyone around me. Last year, after hearing his story, I raised over $100 for his charity and I hope I am able to do the same and more in the future. I feel like my words aren't enough credit to him but he was so loved by all, truly wonderful x

I've been there too many times in 59 years, lost both a brother and sister at a young age. I really wish I could pull out some inspirational comments or life lessons for Grace, but I have none. I hope you keep the memories and know that he is cheering for you every day from above. We will see them again, trust me on this. You will start noticing little miracles happen around that few will see. Like I said... trust me on this.
Watching this video is making me cry because in life there so few people like Zach whose positive outlook and love for life can bring a lasting effect on all those who knew this amazing young man. His memory will always live in the hearts of all who knew him and to those who have gotten to know of him through TH-cam.

I am Zach’s old neighbor. I could sometimes see him outside with his sister. One day Zach was surprised with a gtr. The car I always wanted to see. Then a few weeks later Zach passed.
