I never really listened to music and went to a dance in 8th grade and heard Roller Coaster and Aquaboogie and fell in love with Funk and R&B ballads. I loved Dazz and Dusic. All these great songs are over 40 years old now and still hold up today. TH-cam is so much fun to get lost in hearing the music of our teens and twenties. Another great Reaction.
I just learned about them today - if Brick's music was on CKLW Radio, late 70s, I forgot ever hearing it. Treasure from the vault. U need to see the vid - bro played the flute & then was part of the vocals. Wow. Pure talent & art.
I remember this vividly because my first time entering the hallowed walls of Twin City skating rink in Elizabeth NJ this jam was playing and people were spinning and skating backwards. Party music🕺🏾🎊🎼
Dazz band music has been used by many other artists you can still take this song and music to any disco club's and people will get up and dance the night away ❤ 🎶 ✨ 🙌 ♥ 👌 ❤ 🎶 ✨ 🙌
Hmmmm....you need to reboot with the uncut 12” where they Jimmy Brown is laying down serious flute. Back story: Top 40 radio stations in the ‘70s & ‘80s, and even Sirius/XM now, would play abridged versions of songs going over 4 minutes because they wanted to “hold their listener’s attention.” What they didn't realize is that if a song such as this HAS the attention for the abridged, you will keep it for the one to three minutes longer by playing the full version, and on top of that, only pay one fee for two or three song’s worth of time. This was learned when pure rock stations like WNEW & WPLJ (NYC) figured this out for pieces like Light My Fire, Fanfare for the Common Man, and Frankenstein. Ironically, I heard the full version of Dazz on Allison Steele’s show when she was on WNEW.
The lead singer, Jimmy "Lord" Brown was also a one-man horn section playing sax, trombone, and trumpet. His son is Patrick "Sleepy"Brown the lead singer on Outkast's The Way You Move. This group was formed from two groups out of Atlanta, Georgia.
Denroy Morgan - I'll Do Anything For You Fatback Band - I Like The Girls Gonzalez - Just Let It Lay Roy Ayers - Running Away The Trammps - Where Do We Go From Here
This was my first and few purchased disco albums. But it's really Jazz. I believe I saw them on SoulTrain and they blew my mind. Awesome song. I was into Rock, but their Wicked talented musicians. Some songs grab you, and this certainly did. No stupid autotune!!
Hon you are playing every song I have EVER loved God Bless you for it too!!!!!! I was busy crying before then I spotted you doing these songs plugged in my external speaker and the tears were replaced by a big smile so thank you for that. :D
So I'm guessing that you haven't heard "Cinderfella" by Dana Dane, he sampled this and it was a major hit for him. Yes, it is based on the Cinderella story.
Great reaction! Listen to the 12 inch version. The flute solo will blow you away!
Yes that's the dope part....we need that 12" version. Actually the 45rpm has the full length version too.
The flute and that crazy electric bass!
IKR!!!!!!..........the brotha worked the SHIT!!!! out that flute..........👍

One of the top funk dancing songs of the 70's.
Fo Sho. None of those 90s joints would be classic without the true classics.

Dude! It’s not genre...it’s DAZZ! There’s a reason why Mr. Cube sampled this masterpiece.
Their saying Disco + Jazz = Dazz
This is one of the songs that made you get out there on the floor and show your roller skate moves. Those were the days.
The extended version of this Classic will blow you away bro FACTS 😉✌
My HIGH School would play this during basketball game’s warmups. We be hype getting our slams on 😂😂😂
This is nice - but that 12-inch version tho? 🔥 All I can say - is that FLUTE. Whoever was playing it, left it smoking....

Dazz=DiscoJazz.
Mick Jenkins- Ps and Qs. It's a song where he uses P and Q words tremendously in his lyrics.
U left out the best part of the song there was an instrumental part this is not the album version.
That is absolutely true! I was looking for some breakdown and some instruments; the flute for example was a good one.
💃🏽♨️💃🏽♨️💃🏽♨️💃🏽
ha. I didn't realize you did this song before I suggested it. my bad.
Lol, no such thing as sample, like the children at school say, they're copying me !
If you like the S.O.S Band you have to listen to "The Finest". I really enjoy your reactions to the music I grew up to in the 70's.
Did Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis produce that album from the S. O. S. Band?? I think they did...
