An excellent Rite, the orchestra and conductor are excellent. I have the privilege of owning three great Rites, Boulez Cleveland '92, Ozawa Chicago '68, and Ashkenzy's for two pianoforte. They are absolutely outstanding.
Without any comparing this version has learned me about the different moments in this piece, leading to greater understanding. For example: Frühlingsreigen, Anbetung der Erde, Anrufung der Ahnen. And more. Each moment has a special name. This has given me a deeper understanding of this work than before, when I just listened to the music. After this lesson I can follow the sceneries in this drama better, just listening to the music. Thank you.
I always admire any orchestra that can play this fiendishly complicated piece - which has always been one of my favourites. I still see volcanoes and dinosaurs in my mind when I hear it!
Thank you for the Werkeinfürung, Martina Seeber. In Deutch, but I can follow it ganz genug, as the swede I am! You cannot expect something else than perfection from this orchestra, and perfection it is! A wonderful interpretation with great dynamics and an exquisite sound. Thank you so much! It is "Chaotisch, ekstatisch, barbarisch" as Martina tells us.
Le Sacre du printemps (The Rite of Spring) is a ballet and orchestral work by Russian composer Igor Stravinsky. The Rite is a break with traditional ballet for Vaslav Nijinsky. A masterpiece of musical energy, the composition shows an absolutely prodigious network of inventiveness. From the synthesis of all the musical elements operated by Stravinsky is born an aesthetic multiplicity which intensely privileges the acoustic effects and the dramatic force. The original idea of its composition deploys the brutal force of a symphony orchestra treated in a revolutionary way. The composer wanted a provocative and iconoclastic musical work, going against tradition. The piece which has exacerbated the chromaticism to the highest point, the harsh harmonies, the raw sonorities, are born from the creation of powerful instrumental blocks, that clash or complement each other, the richness of timbres of an enlarged orchestra as well as the use of playing modes that push the sounds to the extreme, emancipating the rhythmic and releasing the tonal harmony from its classico-romantic pivots. Stravinsky juxtaposes and accumulates his musical ideas in contrasting flows, which interact with each other and create a perpetual increase in the energy released, which will crystallize an innovative approach essential to the modernity of 20th century music. The tormented notoriety of the work in its time no longer hesitates to make it one of the pillars of musical modernism today. A sincere work is that which is gifted with enough force to give reality to a dream from everything to each. *Lucien*
This is a very, very fine performance indeed. Timpanist and D trumpet get a raise! All of the musicians were superb. I thought the first half was interpreted brilliantly, but prefer the 2nd half intro and "Mysterious circles of the young girls" faster, but that's just me. I feel this is a very exciting conductor, he got great balance from a great orchestra.
A piece of music that is as much a visual spectacle as it is an aural experience in this direction, even without the pagan ballet Strawinsky composed it for. When in the concert hall close to the performers, it is also a piece of music you feel in your guts during those mighty kettle drum rolls and those incredible big bangs on those huge cymbals and double bass drums. Plus it is very loud in all of strings, brass and woodwind sections on many occasions, no living room hifi system does a live concert hall performance justice. Any live performance is a treat and this is a very fine performance well worth keeping in your archives

Der frühling erwacht und steigert sich darin, weihevoll, bis zu unerhört ekstatischen explosionen - eine wahrhaft maßstabsetzende, kongenial geheimnisvoll sowie spannungsgeladene aufführung dieses frühavantgardistischen schlüsselwerkes ist das ! thanks to the wdr- orchestra and his oustanding maestro macelaru ! toll!
Excuse me. Congratulations. The Rite of Spring by Stravinsky is extreme difficulty. Excellent Orchestra Conductor. Congrats also to the Principal Solo Bassoon. Excellent Orchestra! Bravo! Thanks! BRZ!!
Fine performance. But why no camera on the percussion in the many passages where they (and not just the timpani) are doing things at least as important as the rest of the orchestra?
この指揮者は楽譜通りに動けているが、団員を動かしていない。だから団員たちは信頼せず最後しか指揮者に合わせていないのではなかろうか This conductor is moving according to the score, but he is not moving the members. So the members don't trust him, and only at the end do they adjust to the conductor.
Taking a walk at night while listening to this is is surreal, calming, and terrifying all at once.

Does anyone know who the bass flutist is? She is not an official member of the orchestra or?
Hi, Noah!
her name ist Alba Luna Sanz Juanes. She was a sub for this concert.
For a translation, I prefer, 'coronation', of Spring.
Hallo... Mir egal wo du rein gepasst hast und oder nicht?
Doch ich glaub ich hab dich damit verstanden?
Ich bin so unsicher 😁?

Just one question to WDR. Isn´t Stravinsky (or Stravinskij) the official spelling of his name, instead of Stawinsky with a w?
I just came across the answer myself, in Germany v is pronounced f , therefore w in Strawinsky.
@@staffanolofsson8201 Exactly, "Strawinsky" is the standard spelling in German.
@@staffanolofsson8201 and w is pronounced v
Is the name Stravinsky spelled differently in other languages?
Yes, in german you write "Strawinsky" or even "Strawinski" sometimes.
Dieses Stück ist geschrieben worden, damit die Musiker beweisen können was sie eigentlich könnte 😅😅😅
30:15 the maestro seems to turn the page in the character of the music :)
Yes he turned the page as quiet as possible because the music was triple piannismo
