My favorite thing about this paddle is the maneuverability. Also, thanks for including the swing weight of the paddle after adding lead tape. Great review!
I was convinced and just received my Dunamis. Everything you mentioned on this review is spot on. Probably going to be my main after several more sessions!
@ used copper tape All Around the perimeter of the paddle. Didn’t put them in specific areas of the paddle b/c I didn’t need to fine tune anything specifically. Just wanted more weight to 8 oz
Hi Dustin. great review! Really good job explaining the maneuverability score so well. It looks like you were definitely using that hand speed in some of your gameplay clips. -Justin Barton
Hey thanks a lot man, and thank you for letting me be a part of using the scoring system you developed! Super, super cool and useful info to help put things in perspective
@@PickleballMedicine im REALLY enjoying my Dunamis (over my Apollo). feels more nimble and livelier around the edges than the Apollo. Apollo has a bit more spin but i dont miss it. the balance and shape of the Dunamis is a treat.
Great review. Finally a paddle that comes close to my current Gruvn Muvn 13S which is due for a replacement- wide, low swing weight etc and a unique design to boot. Any thoughts on comparing the 2 (power, pop and sweet spot)? Thanks.
The sweet spot is much smaller on the dunamis than On the 13s. The dunamis also feels like a wooden plank when it comes to stiffness on the face, where the 13s had just enough give. I definitely need lead tape on the Dunamis, where I did not really have to put it on the 13s (I did eventually to improve power a little). The dynamics I need the lead tape to open the sweet spot a little, but it is still pretty small. This paddle is likely going back. I will take the $30 hit on restocking. I’m gonna give it a week to see if the Kevlar softens a little. In my experience with the Apollo the stiffness when I first got it went away after a few hours. In that case the way it came was near perfect for me, but then it turned into a control paddle. I do like the maneuverability on the Dunamis, not a fan of the gradient art, but overall it’s a good looking paddle, and I agree the hand speed is there. The review is spot on, although for me the pop is definitely above the ALW and the maneuverability feels like it is better as well. In my case unfortunately too poppy as it sits today…
Definitely very low swing weight for both, but the dunamis is quite a bit different in feel by comparison! Much more poppy and harder to control. If you're ready for a big power upgrade, it may be good, but it may be too big of a jump! For lighter paddles that aren't quite so big of a jump, I might suggest something like an 11six24 Monarch paddle (I like the Jelly bean)
Honestly I clean my Kevlar paddle the exact same as I clean my carbon fiber paddles, with no change noticed! Most of the paddles use the same peel-ply glue type finish after the thermoforming process, whether it's Kevlar or carbon fiber, so I haven't found the eraser to do anything different for kevlars
Yep! I like my paddles pretty heavy, haha. I usually prefer a swing weight in the mid to high 120's after lead tape, but even with the lead tape I added, the dunamis was pretty light.
I think this was it: ArlinaL Lead Tape for Pickleball Paddles, Adhesive Pickleball Paddle Weight Lead Tape, 0.5 Grams Per Inch 1/4 × 197 Inch, 5 mil a.co/d/2X1fn8e
Can you show me where you found this information? I'm not sure it's true... just checked the website, and it shows 30 day return policy still, and after the discount code it's $152, so $3 up from your $149 reference, if that's what you mean.. I'll happy to be shown where I'm wrong if that's the case, though!
I have 100% respect for any company that is trying new things and different set ups.
Agreed, those two holes are useless, lol.

Agreed, it's very easy to move around! Glad it was helpful!
Ethos is always innovating and trying new things. One of my favorite small brands!
We know you're an affiliate of theirs.
This paddle looks WILD! Nice review as always dude!
Thanks dude, LOVED being able to use the manuverability score system you developed!

Add lead? If so where?

Great review! Favorite setup for the Dunamis - 3 bars of 3 gram (0.1oz) lead on each side. Took it from 99 SW and 6.2 SW to 109 SW and 7.99 TW.
Where specifically? 4 and 8?
@ 3 and 9 with one above and below each side

Mine comes in today!! Great review🫡
Thank you, let me know what you think!!
you should try the Dunamis Pro. Just came out. crazy good
I'm so tempted to get this even though my play style leans heavily to the control but the SW being so low is awesome
I really want to try this. Really nice review.
mine arrives this week!
Let me know what you think!!

@@timkadom1722 Great feedback.thank you. I may go back to another 13S .. was also looking at the Hurricane Pro 14mm. Any thoughts?

Great paddle!
Can I use a random paddle eraser to clean my spartus Apollo? Or do kevlar paddle need use a specific one for cleaning?
Damp microfiber cloth cleans Kevlar paddles very well
Any paddle eraser will work just fine

Hi, on the Dunamis- did you really apply .5 grams/inch lead tape around the whole paddle, i.e. from throat to throat?
Yep! I like my paddles pretty heavy, haha. I usually prefer a swing weight in the mid to high 120's after lead tape, but even with the lead tape I added, the dunamis was pretty light.
@@PickleballMedicine Your hands are still very fast for having that high of a SW. You are fortunate to have that skill! Thanks!

@@PickleballMedicine Thanks! Just ordered some.
I was so hyped to get this paddle but it had one of the worst feels off the face and there is almost no grit. Sad.
That's too bad, I'm sorry you didn't like it! What about the feel didn't you like?
Would you say that it feels as hard as the Thrive Azul?
In terms of face stiffness? It's probably more stiff, haha. Most like due to the fact that it's 14mm instead of 16mm
@PickleballMedicine Oh jeesh, I already find the Thrive super stiff.
Yeah, something to keep in mind for sure! Will have to like stiff paddles to like this one, haha
Do the balls ever get stuck in the holes?
Yes, and they deflate.
Actually the paddle gets stuck in the holes of the ball...
Those holes look like right where I'd put my finger with 2 hands
Great job, you convinced me to give this paddle a try.
Thank you, let me know what you think!!
Looks like Deadpool face. Wish it was all red.
😂 I want an all white model!!
Great review, but probably too much pop for me. 🙂
Thanks for the support, my friend! Pop is pretty strong, probabaly on most days for me, too, haha!
I would assume it's pronounced "Doo-nah-miss" if it's Greek. Just a thought.
Went up from $149 and now only a 7 day return policy. No longer a consideration 👎
