    You've made it all the way to the tippy top! The Chrises! I'm so proud of you, Melissa! It's been such a joy reliving and revisiting this wonderful series through your podcast.

    I hope the Chrises know how loved this show is, despite having a small but loyal fanbase. Thank you for sharing this amazing interview!

    Just wanted to leave a positive comment on the audio quality, concidering the environment, you did really great. Again, thank you so much for doing all these amazing interviews. I can't believe how fast you went from "just" a rewatch podcast to this amazing body of work. Congratulations!

      Thank you so much for that reassurance. I've been worried some of my not ideal technical elements would distract folks, and it is such a relief to hear that the Christophers' words shine through it all!
      I, too, can't believe how quickly this evolved beyond a rewatch podcast. I do my best not to get in the way of the momentum, and I am enjoying every minute. Thank you for watching, commenting, and being part of this experience.

    What a great interview! Loved so much hearing their story about how this show came about, and especially about the personal experiences that helped them create it. This show always felt like a passion project on the part of the creators, and that comes through listening to them talk about it. Also so inspiring to see how they accomplished so much as new guys in the industry. What an amazing first outing it turned out to be, too!
    And speaking of inspiring, how cool is it to not only be interviewing the Chrises themselves, but also get a drop-in from Annabeth Gish? And her saying, "Oh, it's Melissa!" SO amazing!
    So awesome to see how far you've taken this podcast in such a short amount of time. You are an inspiration, Melissa, and thank you for all you do!

      I am really happy to hear that what you were feeling as you watched this matched what I felt in the room. Their passion and purpose for this project shine through, and it bonded them together. The depth of their partnership comes through in all kinds of ways in this interview.
      That Annabeth Gish drop-in and everything that happened over the course of that minute...I'll treasure that. I think this whole thing has validated the idea of letting momentum happen!
      Thank you for being part of this journey every step of the way!

    Such a great interview! Very lucky to have been able to meet both Chris and Christ! Hearing them talk about the real events during Comdex was really interesting and the music picks while making the show.

      Yes - this was really fortunate, and they were so gracious to give more time than the window that was allotted for us. It's so interesting to hear what they think about their time from the show all these years later!

    I really wanted to go to this event. I moved from Austin a year ago to Richmond, VA because I just started to really hate Texas and had to leave. But if only I had hung around a little bit longer I could have gone to the conference. Oh well. Maybe it’ll be online some day?
    Glad you were able to interview the Chrises. Maybe they can come back later for longer interviews. They seemed like they were gonna check out your podcast and I hope they listen to every episode.
    Nice to see such little gems of info dropped here and there. I like how Cantwell could not confirm nor deny if Gordon was hearing voices with the Ham radio or not, which was something I was going to speculate on in your later episodes. It’s still very ambiguous haha
    Thanks for seeking out all these amazing interviews. Such a wealth of content on your channel

      Thank you so much for following all of this, watching faithfully and always sharing your wonderful insights. I would have loved to meet you in person in Austin, but good life choices have to be the priority. I know for sure they recorded the sessions, so as long as nothing went technically wrong with the recording I imagine it will be in the queue for the festival to publish it to TH-cam. But...we don't know when....
      After we stopped recording, I started naming some of the people who had been interviewed already, and they celebrated every name. At one point, one of them said, "I want to listen and just hear their voices again."
      I, too, was hanging on Cantwell's every word about Gordon hearing voices on the ham radio. I have a theory with that, and I like to think it was verrrrryyyyyy loosely confirmed by his word choice. Can't wait to talk it through with you. When I thought I had 10 minutes to interview both of them, I tried to keep the questions broader but as informative as possible, so it was nice that we got to get more specific details from them here and there as our time limit changed on the fly.
      I think what I love the most is how in tune they are with each other. It comes across in so many different ways, and it was a joy to see.

      @@takethedoughnut Ooooo, it was recorded? You know, things like this are often released as blu-ray/DVD extras. Hmmm... I wonder if this is any sign of the blu-ray boxset so many people have wished for and bothered production companies about? I shall cross my fingers.

      @takethedoughnut  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@syntheticgerbil Yeah, there was a company there recording, and I know they have put sessions from previous years' festivals onto TH-cam. That's where I would look for it...but it could be over the course of the year that they put the content up.

    Velouria is a much better fit for that Cam and Joe scene than Love Buzz, which is far too on the nose and not as beautiful... plus it would both be too on the nose to use Nirvana to introduce the 1990s and also kinda unrealistic, since Nirvana in 1990 was not well known even on the alternative rock scene and it is unlikely they would be playing it at Comdex.

    • @takethedoughnut
      @takethedoughnut  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I love where they landed, and I know Velouria is a beloved choice among so many fans. I wonder if he is able to watch that scene back and think of how beautiful it is or if his first thought is "wish we could have got Nirvana."
