It was a pretty ok movie.
FF13 had everything going in it's favor... except game play, plot, and knowing when to quit which ends up making it the biggest failure in all of the series which was not easy considering FF2 and FF8 exist but alas they had good plot in spite of their shortcomings.
Ok, look, this game had a few good things going for it. This piece of music was absolutely a nugget of gold in that clay. There were some mechanical, progression, and story problems I have which ultimately hold me back from saying "I like the game."
Spoilers:*************************** When the final boss wound up being a Giant Flying Mechanical Space Baby GodCreator who's deigned to commit suicide, by which the party's answer is to attack and kill the Space Baby before he can suicide, or they turn into crystals or some shit - Oh, and getting to that point if you hadn't done the right grinding in the world map which took way too long to get to with no real sense of adventure.... I bashed my head against the boss for a while, and put the game down with the intent to grind it out eventually and that game wound up never getting touched again.
The presentation was top notch, though. Great cinematography, and beautiful sets and characters.
FF13 is criminally underrated and overhated, so happy to see it getting some love
Not sure something can be both underrated and overhated, but it certainly isn't as bad as it was made out to be when it first came out.
@@BigHeadClan Easily its biggest "flaw" that people point out is how linear it is. But like, FFX had the same problem and it's praised as one of the best entries in the series. Obvs it's far from perfect, but way too many people hate it blindly without giving it a chance
Final Fantasy always had good music. Music was never an issue with any of the titles. It’s the gameplay and FF13 and 15 have some of the worst, confusingly designed and sloppy mechanics out of the worst of them.
because it tried to be different from all of the previous FF and people hates change in general, i like that it tried to be different makes the game with a different flavor, sometimes eating chocolate ice cream all the time gets boring, you need vanilla too.
but look at the influence it did in the recent FF titles namely FF7 remake, the combat with stagger system came from FF13, and here's what i don't get when people are complaining about combat saying its not turn base anymore, its still a turn base system just more active and action oriented and funnily enough more Akin to the classic turn based than the FF7 remake "classic combat mode" who doesn't really resemble any classic turn base combat whatsoever.

Ffxiii: lore, characters and linear gameplay the game gets more open at end game but I wish they add more like revisiting maps, mini games and more social with NPCs. The characters are a hit and miss but they're still popular though even if the game is shit by western fans.
Ffxv: fun open world but it can be boring with the landscapes and setting, characters feels like family but they added dlc to get to know them more in which they could have add a lore, luna got stabbed we barely knew her inwhich is sad. Hell we get to play as serah in ffxiii-2.
To me it's weird that ffxiii wasn't hated in Japan.

Sometimes I used to stall in battle to hear more of this song. It was pretty good considering how much it plays. I didn't really get sick of it.
Not a fan of FF13, but Blinded by Light is easily one of the best FF battle themes. What an absolutely epic cover!

Final Fantasy XIII was the first FF game I ever played through to completion, and despite all the flaws it had, remains to be my favorite out of the entire series. Thank you for covering this amazing battle theme, you absolutely nailed it and gave it another level of hype!

I have never finished XIII, but I remember playing it because of Lightning and it was the first on PS3, but I stayed because the battle theme so damn good! Good rendition man!

If you haven't played it, definitely give it a chance if you've got Game Pass or find it super cheap physically. It IS super linear, but the visuals and music and animations and battles and story are all soooo good. It does take a bit of time to introduce the main gimmick of it's battle system, Paradigm Shifts, so the first couple hours of battles are very "mash A to win", but the presentation holds you over until shit starts to REALLY hit the fan and the game proper starts.
Its on steam if you cant find it physically.

I’d say my top three is FFIX, FFVII, and the FFXIII Series when it comes to Final Fantasy music. Honorable mention is FFX..Just liked the other stuff way more.
The music from FFIX for me is the most nostalgic especially all the fighting music and the open travel area.
