I grew up knowing CJ back during my high school days. I just lived practically around the corner from him. He was a great guy then and still is. Even though I was pretty much a "hang around" gopher he would always take me to the drag strip with him on weekends and actually painted my name on the back of his rail dragster as a crew member. I don't know if he would remember me now after 45 years but I have lots of memories. I haven't seen him since about 1975. All the best to you CJ!

I always enjoyed watching CJ run Saturday nights at Barren County Speedway in KY before it closed down. Great guy and the best late model chassis designs! If you didn't have a Rayburn chassis, you wanted one.

First car I ever raced was a 1997 CJ Rayburn . Great guy up front says what he thinks !!! Not a PC guy got to love him !!!

Can someone verify this "legend". Is it true that CJ Rayburn gave Harley Brown a new Rayburn raceway to run at Brownstown?
I've heard this story several times and I remember seeing Harley Brown drive that same old car week in and week out but, I was told he finished In a Rayburn.
