  • The people and the Provincial Government of Milne Bay Province are fortunate to become a second time round recipient under the current Governments Development Plans in the Civil Aviation sector, for development and upgrade of the runway and as well as in the construction of a new and possibly bigger terminal building under phase two (II) of the Civil Aviation Development Investment Project program (CADIP II Program) which has now been launched on Friday, the 10th of May, 2024, and construction will comment as soon as possible and to be completed within two (2) years time.
The province had been very lucky to be a recipient in the first phase of CADIP I, and now is also lucky to become a recipient the second time round in the phase II (CADIP II Program), but only this time will be much bigger to cater for direct International Flights either from Australia or New Zealand and with state of the art facilities.
All in all this development when completed will boost the economy of the province through many streams, but notably and mostly through the Tourism Sector. Therefore, a very big challenge had been issued to the people and Provincial Government (Individuals, Ward's, LLG's, District's, Business Houses and the Provincial Government alike to prepare and move ahead in anticipation.
I hope you will all enjoy viewing the ground breaking launching ceremony
and listening to the introductory speeches by various speakers.

Yes, agree with that. I understand there were LO's available at that time, however, have not raised anything.
However, in the PM's speech he also emphasised that the local member work with the people to identify LO's & address matters, if any.
