Oh Hello! I'm Natalie Cassidy. I used to be that Sonia off Eastenders. Just doing this now. Tellin the whole world about me troubles and strife. Oh well, gotta get it out aint cha. Soon I'm off to the shop to get meself some pork scrathins and a ham roll. Touch. Wewl, gotta be done though. Dad?? Did you want Cheese & Pickle or Tomato and Marmite? Oh, I dunno.
I think she's dealt with this situation in quite a mature way.We are instantly expected to accept that those who perpetrate domestic violence can never change, and whilst statistics suggest this,in the main, isn't it wise to take each case on it's own merits? Surely Natalie is the one who knows her partner. It's wrong for us to judge her & her reasons for giving him another chance. If,as she says he's willing to seek help then maybe he'll be a 'success' story.I wish them both good luck.
i dont believe in blaming alcohol for someones behaviour, alcohol only brings out what is there already. But Natalie knows her own mind and i hope it works out.
I agree with other posters who said she handled this quite well and seems mature. And, I like she asked her outright, "Why do you think you stayed?" and she seemed to have a very earnest explanation. I would imagine it's similar to what many women's response would be if they find themselves in a similar situation.
At 01:07 "I'm here for the last time, and I want to put a line under it".......... Yipppeeed........So that's it we'll never hear any more sob stories again. How those two presenter's can keep a straight face I'll never know.
Let me get this straight, did he strike her with a slipper or batter her? Because those are really different things. Striking is hitting once, battering implies some sort of injury. Even though, it would have to be a pretty strong slipper to do any harm to you. My nephew striked his mother last time I visited (he's 3). Is that domestic violence? Should I phone the police? Lol
Naw but seriously. This isn't something I would wish to anyone. However, the whole story was blown out of proportion even though nothing much happened. There are women out there (and men for that matter) who suffer from domestic violence and by making a big deal out of this it makes their stories less shocking. It's good to talk about it, but there are worse things happening than someone being hit with a slipper and I think that should be talked about
This girl will not go away. It was not FRONT PAGE news! it was in the Mirror? Hardly the sheets. She just wants to be in the lime light continually no matter what it involves, as long as she can get on telly and whine about either her weight or some story of bullying. Philips first question: So why did you go public about this?" I can answer that; because it gets her on telly - because it's the only thing left, to get her on telly, she is so desperate to be famous, it shows.
Also her comment. "Well, we did a documentary about me giving birth and everyone got to know us" First off, where's your dignity? secondly, no one watched it, so who are all these people you have to tell? Like anyone gives a flying hoot whether you get back with your boyfriend or not? Going public, like the nation is holding its breathe? Like it's one of the decades most awaited outcomes? Your not in Eastenders anymore, it's over - just get a job like the rest of us and shut up!
