But its all good because someone learned something, yeah they got a first hand lesson in ninjitsu, or worse..

    Nice to see how everyone was very humble around you despite maybe being a bit surprised at how skillful the "white belt" is. I'm a blue belt myself, and I'm super fortunate to train in an academy where the head coach always creates such a positive learning environment. Despite that, I've seen my fair share of high ranking white belts or blue belts who let their ego get the best of them. One white belt actually hyperextended the new guy's arm out of frustration that the new guy was able to deflect all his previous submissions attempts
    From what I gathered in my years of training (nothing compared to the black belts of course), yes you can have better technique and more experience, but that doesn't guarantee that you'll be dominant during a fight. Even without any martial arts experience, the new guy can be good based on a naturally fast reaction time, being a fast learner, physically taller and heavier etc. In addition to partnering with higher ranking belts to learn technical skills better, I also found it really helpful to work with the white belts that give me a hard time, because I can work on my weaknesses and solidify my knowledge by teaching them stuff. And just a bonus, try to use an advantage you have that most of your teammates can't do (mine is doing the oversplits), it may help you out during a crucial point of the fight
    Basically, no matter what rank you're in right now, stay humble and be open to learning from anyone. When a lower ranking belt gives you a hard time, instead of getting angry, take it as an opportunity to better your skills. Who knows, you might learn something from the new guy in terms of fighting strategies

    • @JustMe-vz3wd
      @JustMe-vz3wd 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Good point and so true. Many ppl avoid training with white belt or just dont take it seriously. And if somethong goes wrong, its always the fault of the white belt!
      I learned things i ONLY could learn with beginners, that is, to really adapt to "mistakes" the beginner makes, and suddenly, magic magic, once tuned into the beginners mind, a great practise.
      Dont patronize beginners, or try to "teach" them, just learnfrom their beginners mind and attitude.

    • @mht4908
      @mht4908 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@JustMe-vz3wd Exactly, I really like rolling with white belts that are much taller and heavier than me, because I know in the real world, people don't play by the rules in street fights. Combat wise, I find that they can attack/defend with an outside of the box method, so sometimes I can end up learning something from them that I may never encounter from seasoned BJJ veterans

    Love the transitions. And the submissions, especially the armbars. He never pulled them to a straight arm or risked any injury , just held it there and gained more control. Says a lot about the people who roll just to hurt someone, this guy could have broke a lot of limbs.

    Now, I don't wanna sound like an arrogant guy, but at 2:35 ... the moment he extends his left leg, I would have known he ain't a white belt. We've once had a judo national champion coming in and posing as a white belt. I knew after 10 seconds rolling, that something was fishy. There are some movements a white belt (or even a blue belt) won't do. Using a leg for distance management, while controlling the arms, is one of them.

    • @uke_mike
      @uke_mike 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i get what you're saying but we didn't watch him like you did in the video, we just rolled like normal or drilled like normal and were focusing on ourselves not him, its easier to see when the whole picture is highlighted.
