When I was a kid, 1996,1997, 1998 in Broome, Western Australia, Ansett used to fly F28-4000s. Very loud. Brings back memories. Love that high pitched sound before landing. Amazing how time flies, these planes are rare now.
The Pocket Rocket we called it. My favourite Aircraft - I have 5,000 hours flying them. With the speed brake out you could descend at 12,000 ft a minute like a Space Shuttle.

Very elegant plane. Well engineered by Fokker.

Why were the F28s so out?
Low-bypass turbofans
One of my absolute favourite aircraft. Flew them many times in Papua New Guinea in the early 90's. Air Nuigini, a great national carrier.

The Pocket Rocket
I like that name!!
Why was the F28 so loud?
@@F50Aircraft The RR Spey was an early Low Bypass Engine (For the non technical the Fan you see on the front).
Below 80% thrust nothing happened.
@@billolgaau i think the F28 had either stage 1 or stage 2 engines which were older and louder
Back in the mid 1980s, I used to work with the F28s operated by the Swedish airline Linjeflyg. A very nice plane to fly on too.
My fav plane!😍😍😍
Love the speed brakes on those!
great video!
Thank's for watching!

Nice Video and rare Plane
Thank's for watch the video, greetings!
This plane it is Fokker F-28 made at Holland in ends '60 and early '70s.
Lovely 👍❤️🇧🇩

helps brake the aircraft
