Played guitar for 20 years and haven’t actually owned one for the last 8 years. Wanted to start playing again to cope with covid, so I ordered one of these , so as not to break the bank. I’ve always loved the shape of grand concerts as well. Thanks for doing this. Reassured me I made the right decision
Same issue...lost a few guitars before covid...main loss was a Taylor 310 which I was very proud of...covid got me down and a good friend noticed. She bought me a squire acoustic..at first I was very grateful but also a bit down because I went from the Taylor and a few other quality acoustics to a squire...i have now rubbed the fingerboard off the squire within 7 months by playing so much...my next upgrade is in the mail and it is the orangwood oliver. But, to make a long story short this last year taught me that most of the guitar sound comes from the player and not the guitar...i am so excited for this next affordable upgrade and also excited that others can have a quality instrument like this for the price...in 3-7 business days ill post my own thoughts on the oliver 😊
@@JoMaMaz you won’t be disappointed, especially for the money 👌 I can only speak for the mahogany top. Haven’t played the spruce top. I believe that the craftsmanship and sound, for its price point, is unmatched

I was looking at the mahogany top version. 🙂👍 If you don't mind one other question, I see everyone complimenting Orangewood Guitars, "for the price," which makes me wonder, if this guitar cost $100-200 more, or, more so, regardless of the price, is it a good guitar? I can't tell if people like it BECAUSE of the price, or if that is just an added benefit that it is also cheaper. Thanks! 🙂
Bought the Oliver Live Mahogany yesterday 4 Nov 2023, was on "holiday sale", $236 and total was $250.16 shipped with Virginia sales tax. She will be smaller tonier companion to my Recording King RD-318 which is a totally different guitar an all solid Adirondack top Mahogany back/sides Martin D-18 clone, should be quite a contrast. Will advise.

I was also inspired by Mary Spender but since then i’ve seen a whole bunch of other videos pop up about Orangewood guitars. Definitely sounds like the company’s on the right track. Btw loved the Led Zeppelin “The Ocean” riff. Cool video, nicely done.
it's like the same but different thank you. I honestly really like this guitar. For the price it is hands down one of the best guitars I’ve ever played and I have a lot of experience with affordable guitars. It is all my bank account allows me to have.
Hi, I just bought this guitar and love it also. The riff in G you were doing at the end, what is the chord at the third and fourth fret? I blew vid up to full screen so I could see that chord, and I can't make it out. Can you tell me what it is please? Thanks
@@baldtat the first part is a G chord with b string fretted at 3rd fret then slide up if I remember correctly. 2nd finger on low E 5th fret -1st finger 4th fret on A string - fingers 3 and 4 5th fret D and G strings
@@FromFat2Phat Ok thanks, the G chord sounds right, but when I use that configuration you gave me, it doesn't sound anything like that chord you played. I'm sight impaired, and I'm pretty sure I saw it as you commented above, but I can't get it to sound similar unless I mute the A string at 5th fret, and it's closer, but not the same. Gonna keep working on it. Thanks for your help.
Hello. Thank you It is holding up well. I treat my guitars well so can’t say how it would holdup under gigging use. If I play it outside of home it’s only at church. Overall still very pleased. Great value and sound for money. It doesn’t feel cheap to me
