I cried with the understanding that there will never be another game world like the one in new vegas; everyone loves NV and feels the same way about it.... 11 years later here we are with the same love for the game as when it first came out
I remember it was pretty divise amongst fallout fanbase at that time. I think it shows how special the game was for some people that prefer that classic fallout style
People shit on the map of New Vegas because it feels lived in and not as apocalyptic, but having played Fallout 1 and 2 the reason I loved New Vegas was because it was a post apocalyptic map. Society is rebuilding itself, the horrors of the apocalypse are still present, Raider gangs still exist, mutated creatures roam , technological horrors are present, but as NCR and Legion grow these horrors are fading away and new ones surface, reminiscent of civilizations being born and the effects those pose on the people and places they impact. Its why the Western cowboy theme works in more ways then one. The NCR is like America heading West post Civil War and bringing along with it the blessings and burdens of society, similarily how the Legion is expanding itself. The desert areas always have these interesting landmarks that are fun to revisit and the radio music soothes the soul as you journey beyond the outer reaches of civilization. I think what I love about this game the most though, is that I feel immersed in it so easily and feel obliged to just walk the map over fast travelling because of the beautiful vistas and sunsets. Talking to various NPCs over and over and growing with my complex companions. It wasn't my first fallout game, but by god it encapsulated everything I wanted in one.
I think the difference is that New Vegas was constructed by good worldbuilders with the intention of creating a believable world. As a game, the world map suffers of large stretches of nothingness. You might walk for several minutes without seeing a single thing or coming across any kind of enemy. Compare that to Fallout 4 where you might stumble upon an abandoned police station full of supermutants, run back to the neighboring building to cover, only to find yourself face to face with raiders now instead. It's nonstop bang bang in Fallout 4, which is why I think it's a game that's so fun to play and explore, but ultimately the Boston world feels completely phony and artificial, it's a glorified themepark. Every few meters there's a new landmark, another building to loot, another band of enemies, and so on. New Vegas is not at all like that. The Mojave is an empty wasteland in which not even most creatures can survive in, so when you see a building in the distance you're not likely to forget it. It might be less exciting to play from moment to moment, but the longterm effect is that the game leaves you with the memory of visiting a place, a REAL PLACE, and not just a glorified shooting gallery.
@@bigbeautifulape5283I don't know if you know this but Boston is a massive metro area, most of new Vegas is the desert. Of course in a densely packed urban area there will be more enemies more buildings, more loot.
Litteraly... 1 year later, 370 like and 0 dislikes... We all have some of those special moments when we played fallout new vegas that we wish we could get back just one more time😔
I drove into the real-life Goodsprings listening to this song, tears filling my eyes. This was back in the early 2010s. Over 10 years later and this is still one of my top favorite songs of all time from my #1 game ever. Changed my life. SAVED my life.
Used watch my big cousin play Fallout 4 all the time he let me play one day and I was so hooked I asked about the older games specifically he said play New Vegas it was the best in his opinion. He passed in 2022 and I just beat the game and can’t stop crying cause he used to always sing this song, I never knew why….. now I do RIP big fella “in the shadow of the valley that I love best. You’ll never be forgotten
Just started a new save after years of not touching it, and my god, this is the best game of all time. There's something about the mojave that hits so much different.
They REALLY nailed the world and atmosphere at the time, i remember uninstalling and reinstalling the gameseveral times back in the day because i used to play too much and was not doing my homework lol
Imagine making one of the single best open-world and WRPG's ever made in less than two years, and have it be remembered fondly a decade and counting later. Fallout New Vegas deserves this tribute.
this is like a comfort game to me. going back into the world of New Vegas and feeling like i want to explore it and having an escape from my own world for a while that refresh me deeply. every ounce of this game is made with love, it's safe to say
many of the songs in nv i find it hard to listen to without feeling down or just missing old times, i remember when i would visit my grandparents and they would have classic country music playing on the TV as they sat at the dinning room table playing cards
Me too every couple of momths i come back here on youtube to listen all new vegas osts and the emotions are …well really heavy..i know its just a game but it means so much to me.
I remember the first time playing everytime I walked into a ranger outpost my first thought was "I have wandered many places but they're all the same to me
As a person from Sacramento Ca living in Phoenix Az, about twice a year I drive home through the Mojave. I always play the soundtrack and especially this song at sunset.
Amazing how new vegas made us love fallout and the holders of the game license actually made us hate them after it. Zenimax should've done fallout 4...
This is so beautiful. I remember the first time I got to play and was just captivated by how great of a game it was and the music and scenery. This video is amazing… I wish I could experience Fallout NV again for the first time and just take it all in again without any current day events taking place on my head
Thank you for this :,) So nice to know that there's other people out there who share the same nostalgia for the game. I remember I'd play it right after coming home from middle school on our old 360, or when I had the house to myself I'd play it with the volume on and sing along to the radio. No other game has measured up.
I never could understand New Vegas, always got lost, offtrack, and didnt know where to start and where to continue. The atmosphere was also mysterious,, i didnt know any of the lore in the Fallout universe i just asked my bro what is the best Fallout game out there and he responded with New Vegas. Never finished or made something out of it, even though my head said it wasnt anything to me, my heart says otherwise.
I love each and every one of you. You will find your way back to the place you love best. Im here with you all. Taking it easy. Sit back let it all roll through. Like wind through the valley. I really believe in you, and I have faith in everyone here. Together we will walk home❤.
This was my first fallout, the first game I ever completed, the game where it didn't get boring for the next 5 days, the game where I beat the game just today ending with the Yes Man ending, I want to wish that i never played this game so I can re-explore the Mojave again.
I miss seeing the Mojave for the first time
I wish I could forget it all and play the game over again, from the very beginning.

So sad, already 11 years...
Best fallout to date in my opinion and one of the best games ever created, it was truly a work of passion
Yes I still play this game till this day fallout 3 and NV my favorite classics.
@@lorenzopiscosi9566 I think you misunderstood my comment.
The Vegas Strip looks more mesmerizing than Diamond City.
Diamond city is nothing compared to the strip
Diamond city is pretty small for it to be the "Jewel of the commonwealth" the Vegas strip is better
No competitions even Goodsprings is better then garbage-city (or everithing in Boring-settlements simulator 4)

thanks for this. The mojave is my second home.
The last of the elites
a great tribute to a great game
New Vegas will always be there for us
This lowkey made me a bit emotional. I wish there would be more games like fallout.
I wish I could forget this wasteland just to rediscover it again 😔🚬
We are probably never going to get a Fallout this good again. Especially while Emil Pagliarulo still has a job.
Why are you thanking us for watching? thank you for making this
I'll never leave the shadow of this valley, ♥ NV

I’m forever grateful to have had the privilege to patrol the Mojave.

We always mention what obsidian had done in limited time, but imagine what we would have if their time wasn’t limited.
Fallout 3 was great, but this is a near masterpiece.
Fo3 was my first fallout, i was so scared i stayed far too much in megaton lol then few years later i played new vegas. For me is new vegas> fo3 > fo4

this is truly a masterpiece everything about it the locations, the characters and tribes truly amazing
Good work op
one of my favorite things to do is hit Q and caps lock on pc in third person, and just walk through the wasteland. fucking good time right there
For what is esssentially a stock song, it's a great little diddle, atmospheric, emotional, and perfectly fitting for New Vegas

Beautiful tribute for the best game of the world for me, love it, great work 👍
How can I remember every place in NV but in fallout 4 there's like 3-4 fun places
Good times

the game where I beat the game just today ending with the Yes Man ending, I want to wish that i never played this game so I can re-explore the Mojave again.
First scene: where is it? Clever choice I’m assuming.
Great video!❤
