Hello!good job!Après le premier nettoyage,j'aurais masqué le fil jaune avec du scotch afin de les protéger du cirage noir!Sinon les made in England c'est autre chose que les Chinoises!!!

@@arnaudberger1730 sorry for my French, it’s not so good 😊

May I suggest a bowl with some sort of texture on the bottom to help whip up that lather. Good job though. My one wish is if you don’t care about the yellow stitching you could at least black it out completely. As for the polish at the end, for those learning how to do this, the wax at the end will add that extra layer of protection over the shoes.

May I ask why you don’t recommend Kiwi? The video sound jumped at 10.16 , you mentioned something about silicone. I only ask as I’ve been using Kiwi on my docs since 1982 without any issue that I’m aware of. I’m always willing to learn though. Thanks.

It depends on what you want it for. Kiwi is great for general maintenance, I have found that for a high shine finish it starts to crack after a while, and then you end up having to strip it back again (same technique as in this video). You can use a candle and a tea spoon to melt it back as an alternative but a better quality polish is less likely to do this. Hope this helps!

@@Create-n-fix-with-Nick thanks for that. Can you recommend any better quality polish? I’ve actually ordered a tin of Trickers that you used in this vid.. never even heard of it before but I’ll give it a go. Ta

Saphir - french stuff - has a good rep. I tried some meltonian (they used to be the bees knees for shoe cream decades ago and they got resurrected). Have no idea where its made though, and it was pretty smelly! Their high shine worked well though. I suspect that Loake, Trickers, and other Notts. based shoe makers might be using Saphir, but I don’t know that for a fact. Would be interesting to know. DM also have a range of shoecare, I’ve used their dubbin before.

Before your intervention, the boots had lovely yellow stitching (strange). it's black after your intervention. (sad)

Yeah, it’s a preference thing. If you wear them to work the stitching stands out too much, so I am ok blacking it. It’s a good point and I think if you like the yellow stitching then use masking tape (the painters blue stuff works well). Thanks for the comment!

If I might start by critiquing your presentation here by suggesting you take note from other channels who seem to make short work of performing the process of shining docs. There is a whole plethora of them on this platform. Anyway, I did kind of enjoy your clumsy presentation and cringe explanations of how to do absolutely everything. I watched up to where you decided to use the most useless of lacing configurations possible (I had hoped against my earlier presumptions that you sadly would hash this up as well, no offense, and you did.) Again, there are other doc videos that show how to achieve 'bar lacing' (quite simple once you practice!) and this method makes for an expedient and hassle free fitting.
