Sad that the Lounge was closed, being elite member, thats the one of the most important perks.
But didnt they offer services in the bar ?(Happy hrs time, you get 4 drinks plus unlimited starters) I prefer them.
Also, sorry for being straight forward, 9 nights (using points, thats 3,60,000 points, guess one night is free, so 3,20,000 points considering the Cat 5, Peak time) for this average property is way too much. Also, why 9 nights ? why not 10? both 9/10 night would have fetched you same same points redemption.
Are you a Titanium or Ambassador ? Or a Platinum?
I would happily burn 3,20,000 points in St Regis Maldives for 5 nights!
Rather than this property with a normal Valley view room! Atleast Studio Suite should have been offered as a complimentary upgrades.
Its Just my view :) . May be you are a good family man, to not to take the risk in traveling abroad in these situations :)
Keep going, you have lots to explore and enjoy.

@Arun M when we visited the hotel the hotel was full, as it should be, for the Christmas and New Year season was upon us. There is no permanent lounge in this hotel, but it is opened up in the Teppan restaurant every evening, and when we visited, enough elites were visiting so they opened it up. Our nights were lined up by flight availability, not by how to maximise the points. I am an Titanium.
This property is fabulous for when you want to travel in India. I think you are looking at this purely from a maximise the points perspective, I look at it from the perspective of where we wanted to spend our time and relax. Heading to St. Regis Maldives would have been 1000 dollars spent just on the commute, and you arrive tired losing one day and so on. Out here, we knew we were safe during these weird times, even though we had some hiccups.

No upgrade and no lounge must have surely been a little disheartening. I guess too many points shelled out for this property..but that's surely a personal choice.Happy Lounging👍

I did nmention that I was upgraded to the Valley View Room, so, not sure what is the disheartening bit about?
