I love dry humor and Jack Soo was fantastic at it. The show was full of it.

Loved Barney Miller as a kid. Rewatched the series over the years in re-runs. Comedy gold, IMO. These clips show how great Jack Soo was.

Every member of the cast had such sharp comedic timing. Must have been intimidating and difficult to do a guest stint on this show!

A kid they arrested said "Just ask the colored guy!" Soo responded to the kid and said "I hadn't noticed." The kid said "Not you! The guy standing next to you!" Soo said "He's black, I'm colored. Nick Yemana and Arthur Dietrich were kings of the dry deadpan wit that has seen no match since. This ensemble was so perfect that they managed to top the casts of The Mary Tyler Moore Show, I Love Lucy, Mash, Golden Girls, Seinfeld, Sanford and Son, Taxi, Everybody Loves Raymond, Frasier and Cheers. Not easy to do.
