The Greater Chennai Traffic Police have announced significant traffic changes to facilitate Republic Day celebrations and rehearsals on January 20, 22, 24, and 26. Kamarajar Salai, from Gandhi Statue to War Memorial, will be closed to all vehicular traffic from 6:00 a.m. until approximately 9:30 a.m. Diversions will be in place for commercial vehicles, MTC buses, and other vehicles. Motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly to avoid inconvenience during these periods.

• Association Republic Day Celebration: Local associations in Chennai are organizing flag hoisting ceremonies, cultural programs, and live screenings of cricket and football matches to commemorate the day.
