Thank you for your very thorough review. Having seen a few other reviews of these pencils, as well as Polychromos and your review of the Holbein set (sadly, I don’t think I can justify the expense!) I’ve just placed an order with Cult Pens for the 72 set of the Derwent Lightfast. They seem to have a very good specification, so I’m looking forward to using them.

My boyfriend got these for me for Christmas. They are amazing. Absolutely the best- they feel just like Caran Dach Luminance but maybe even better. I have Holbein, Luminance, Caran Dache Pablo, Supra color, Polychromos and all the other high end sets. Lightfast blows everything out of the water. I wasn’t super impressed with how many dark blues there are. I’m in love with the very pale tones- Arctic is my favorite color in the set. They blend amazing and are such a dream- worth the investment.
Was just looking at the gorgeous colours on the 100 colour chart (due September-ish, or at least way before Christmas). I've used Inktense and Coloursoft, and I'm looking forward to trying these someday. Fab giveaway. Lucky be the winner!
