- And here's the other operating Berk!
This weekend we made a pilgrimage out to Michigan once again to see a Berkshire, this time being the one and only Pere Marquette 1225 on the Steam Railroading Institute's Cadillac Limited, one of their more rarer excursions that they do with the 1225. This year the wye at Cadillac was out of commission due to the Great Lakes Central not keeping up with maintenance so this year had the PNLX 57 on the rear end to lead the train back to Mount Pleasant after their layover in Cadillac.
Before that though we mentioned to chase the ferry move of the Cadillac Limited out of Owosso, albeit they were running two hours late due to the crew not being ready in time for the planned 5 AM departure which lead to the train being delayed out of Mount Pleasant which lead to a late departure out of Cadillac, but despite the delays everything went well and it was great to see the 1225 once again after five years, so enjoy the sights and sounds of the 1225 making her way through the lovely Michigan countryside. Enjoy!

Great catches awesome chase and nice video
Awesome video! Thanks for posting it.
The cherry on top is the State Police still have the old beacon style lights that match the era the train is from.
I’ve been on the train once and chased it once. The rolling stock is always different so it doesn’t get old seeing it.
Nothing beats a steam train.

You have to have money
Is that a main line still to Cadillac or is that more just very seldom used spur now?
So how come Great lakes Central didn't keep up with the maintenance this time?
