    And nearly caught me again... as was not acting when I was ready to start diagnosing...

    First i tought it was a wiring essue and the car maybe when it get hot the wires touches, what this wasn't in my mind what so ever. Thank you for your efforts

    Bro plz do some videos on BMW CAS, DME, DDE calibration & programming or if the modules have been replaced with a used ones (they're nightmares), your videos will help a lot of people facing problems with these cars, although scanners can do it but there's no info on how to perform these repairs step by step👍

    That's really poor electrical design, a simple short on a seatbelt buckle can bring the whole car to a halt! 😬 Should've been fused on something less essential.

      Ya it's a cheap Mercedes why would you buy a smart car when you could buy a micra or a golf or a up which are lovely cars and build the last and the same size

    Great Fix!
    I think it wasn’t easy to find it because from the wiring diagram the feed line stops
    at the airbag control unit and did not explicitly shows that it also feed the belt switch, is it?

    Good job finding that, i currently diagnosing a weird transmission problem, the first two gears will jerk then skip to third after about ten seconds, after i can shift 3-4-5 or 5-4-3 just fine but will refuse to go to second or first gear unless i shut the engine off then shift manually, adjusted and greased the clutch actuator but still the same, these car have fragile electronic

    08 smart 451, I live in Central london and drove to a Smart Geek in Cheltenham (220 mile round trip) who removed the passenger seat took out the ECU put it on a computer and reset it with the Mercedes upgrade, £100.00. Flew all the way home, car never felt so good. Can't give the guys contact details utube would consider it advertising but I am sure you can find it.

    One day, I ran into a similar problem. In exchange for a native fuse, I used a standard 10 amp circuit breaker from a home electrical network.

    Hi. Can you help me. I have fabia mk1. i have remonte control in key. I can only open the doors. There is no reaction on close button. I took my second key and try to close but it is the same. Both keys only open the doors but not close. What could happened?

      I could have started to dismantle the car... looking at the wires to the ABS, or to the Gearbox, to the Airbag... for nothing...
      At least this way, I had a bit more "info" and "how it happens" to work with...

    Great Video, and to think Mercedes tech will tell you to change clutch, load updated software, and maybe even change actuator all while charging like a wounded beast, this could easily cost 2k with them.

      Check what voltage your alternator is outputting... might be nothing, but just popped up i to my head...
      If all good, check voltage supply to the cluster... if is also missing...

      @@LMAutoRepairs but i hear if the clutch is bad and the car is cold you can still drive 10 15 minuts until goes bad my doesn’t move even if the car is cold.

      Each case can be different...
      If is engaging the gears, and does not drive, either clutch, clutch actuator, gearbox or drive shafts...
      Inspect... and if all visually good on the outside, I would go with the more obvious... the clutch...
      That said, scanning the car and look at some live data, should help you a bit as well...

      Difficult to tell based just on the code, some live data analysis, and experiencing the problem, is of a lot of help...
      That said, I would say that either the clutch is worn, or the clutch actuator... but again, difficult to say...
