Giorgio Moroder even composed a theme song for the car that was played at the unveiling event in 1988. He also designed the Cizeta-logo itself. I am aware you only heard Claudio's side of the story but you cannot talk about the V16T and not mention Giorgio. Without him the Cizeta would have stayed in Claudio's dreams forever.
It's so great to see another car being rescued from rotting in Brunei. This a gem. Please tell us the story of how you managed to find it and how you managed to get it out of "The Collection". We need more pics of the Brunei garages. Can't wait for the next video! Keep it up!
Was looking forward to this for a while since you announced the V16 was coming to the collection! Wicked to see it finally arrive! Another epic story! :D
If it was a Sultan of Brunei (or more likely, his brother) car, the story of the chase to find and buy this car would no doubt also be interesting for this channel!
I think Sultan of Brunei had the other Cizeta V16T with black colour RHD but the engine broken and they changed the engine with 512M right now the Cizeta were sitting in Joe Macaris Museum the blue RHD as far as i know sultan owns it but he put in Singapore at Hong Seh with his BMW Nazca (CMIIW) i dont know where the other RHD unit just 2 that i have been look the blue and black
Wow!!! Incredible!!! I remember reading about that car in all of the car magazines when I was a kid! You truly have one of the most special cars for this time period. Congratulations!
I love the car, I love the history, and I love the whole video all around. My favorite part is the swapping pics of ur kids with one another. Nothing makes me more proud then the rare moment where I can whip out my phone and show off my son!!!
Back in like 1989 or 1990, one of the magazines... Motor Trend, Automobile or Car & Driver, maybe all of them ran an article on the Cizeta Moroder. I've always had the belief that this was the prototype to the Diablo. It wasn't until the early 2000s when I learned that this car actually was in production for a few years. I still haven't seen one in person and this is the first time I've seen one on video. Pretty exciting!
12:15 - the moment the container door opens...my heart just skipped a beat. I saw this particular blue car long time ago on the internet, not sure why the address was given for Prague, Czech Republic. It had the "CIZETA PROTOTYPE" black plate at the front. Strikingly similar to this one, a blue one with blue interior, though the site claims it was from 1994. Not sure if that was/is the same car, if you are saying blue was the only one ever produced, but all of the white emblems, including that one the right is something I have never seen on any other Cizeta and it is on that car too...It looks like it is the very same car... Please share as much information and history about the car and the chasing process, because it's just fascinating. Whether you decide to sell it or not - please make sure to show it, expose it, let the people know about this great piece of automotive history. www.motor1.com/news/36864/cizeta-moroder-v16t-up-for-sale-in-prague/
I use to own my dream car, a 96 Bonzai blue Diablo VT but stupidly sold it and miss it every day. I see so much of the Diablo in the Cizeta. Cool video thanks
this was great to watch i remember seeing and reading about this car when i was 16 years old and has always been my money no object dream car. and a car that no one ever knew what i was talking about. great video
What a find! I'm really looking forward to the follow up. The Cizeta appears a little after 12:00 . For my taste, the first 12 minutes could have been trimmed by 1/3 without losing anything.
After the BMW V16, this is the second 16-cylinder car I’m seeing. When people see you driving older cars from a time before, they think you just link to inconvenience yourself, they don’t know that a car having soul can go a long way into making you forget every other thing and have the time of your life with that car.
Great Story & a Beautiful find John @wearecurated .. A Unicorn. Definitely a 90's Classic Super Car that needs to be shared with everyone, before it goes off into a private collection.
Thank you John for doing a video on this car. I remember reading all the auto magazines back then (I'm 43 now, so you can figure my age, lol). I always thought it was so different and unique with the double row of pop up headlights and then the dog lights below the bumper. Such an awesome accomplishment to track it down. I was so excited when I saw the thumbnail picture in my notifications bar. Can't wait for the next installment! One question? Did you guys ever sell the hats yet? Would love to buy one to wear to the local cars & coffee up here in Pennsylvania. Keep up the fantastic work!
Stunning. Always remember reading about the Cizeta in CAR magazine in the UK, it was on the cover, noted journalist Steve Cropley drove it - was white with a red interior. Sursprised you didn't mention the Giorgio Moroder connection who sadly died recently. Can't wait for the next video on it. Thanks for sharing this insight
Oh boy another great story coming soon!😬 I love the cars obviously but the story and the case are my favourite parts for sure. Correction... John talking with his hands is my favourite!😜
You should try and get in touch with Jay Leno and bring this to his garage when the COVID is under control, I’m sure with such a rare car and someone who worked at Lamborghini he’d want to see it
@@theanimelibarian7881 have you ever met him? Cause I have. I toured is entire garage on a whim. Nicest guy ever. Very funny and not one time did I think he was an asshole or a show boat
I'm glad you guys mentioned the feeling of new cars. I think they are nicely described as modern appliances that function as cars. Definitely good for our lives, but older cars and a few modern examples will always be special in comparison.
I just commented on one of you other videos asking if you had any experience with Cizeta's, lol! Perfect timing. Thanks for sharing, I love these cars!
Every genuine petrol head knows about this car, but almost no one has seen it and heard it run. Can’t wait for the next video. 16 cylinders is just bonkers! I think they mated two V8’s together? Be sure to include the story of it’s design and engineering in your next video. Congratulations!
This car never actually arrived in Brunei. It was kept in Singapore for a very long time with very little mileage on it. Seen it once here in Singapore next to his BMW Nazcar..
Rare, different, special, collectable, museum class, unique, vehicles with an interesting story are my life's blood, my passion, the air I breathe, my ultimate fantasy, the one thing I could own that would make my heart race, as a smile covers my face that makes my checks hurt, even after days of lost sleep, and constant praising of the Lord... nothing could compare. It's my fantasy, and I can't say I've ever had dream come true, with the closest I've been being a Cadillac Allante, which had a body, and interior built by Pininfarina, an incredible back story, even if it was a car that was far from successful. My heart broke, and is still very broken over that car. I had a Corvette, I have a BMW 540i right now, and would burn it for another Allante, or something else... you know, truly special. Driving is empty now. To own that car, I would cry for days with joy I couldn't possibly put into words. I would slept by it, eat by it, love it. Today, it's as if the passion has drained from my life until the day I can somehow, some way, aquire a car that is special... I know it sounds weird, but doctors have told me I have a condition that could spell the end of my life. I have no wife, no kids, and I could be staring at the end of my life. It wouldn't be responsible for me to even try to have a child, or to fall in love so I can abandon them. I don't know if I will die before at least (and to say "least" seems so inappropriate, because it means so much to me it's hard not to break down as I write this) of that automotive dream becomes a reality, for no matter how briefly, I will die with memories so beautiful, if a soul is conscious, with a memory, and can recall the past, my soul would be filled with joy every time I get the privilege to remember when I was the custodian of an automotive legend, driving a moment I'm time, washing her, caring for her needs, going to as many automotive shows as possible to display her, etc., etc. That is such a deeply embedded part of me, that when you speak of why rare.and special cars interest you far more than new cars, well, as a man who would rather have a Panoz, lotus, Consullier, Sbarro, the list of names goes on and on, than 2 brand new S classes, a couple brand new 760il (a classic B3, B5, B6, or B7 would be world's better) BMWs. Even that Lambo you're driving is not the same, as it's mostly the results of parts sharing, compromise, and the decisions of a conglomerate, not the passion of people who love automobiles. It's cool, I'd be happy to own one, I'd appreciate it, but it's just not the same.
This qualifies as "car porn". Excuse me while I pick my jaw up off the floor. This is what dreams are made of. There just aren't any words to express how holy this is. I remember seeing pictures back when they were new. If I could only have one super car. This would be it. Thank you.
This comment is for this channel overall: This channel is brilliant. I recall John mentioning in a previous upload that he received odd or negative comments, perhaps some regarding how he looked? How asinine. I would give my left....to simply have lunch with John (and be classy and pay for it). John took the bull by the horns and created a job all of us would die for. Speaking of intentional puns when it comes to life I am a Lamborghini man. I am a raging bull not a prancing horse. And not that I don't have respect for Ferrari (they are like Harley Davidson: I don't care to ride a Harley but I respect their heritage). However, I am a maverick. I am one who was destined to carve out his own path.
I dint think so. If you look a ouple frames down, it looks like they have a piece of foam stuck to the car to protect it. I think it is just a piece of double sided tape probably

You give more credit to it than is due. For the right price, the company still claims that they can still build you one. So not really a one off. Rare yes, not one off.

True. But then there'd be less ad revenue.
