I'm surprised how much people go out and spend money, just to "save money". $9.00 is too much for me, I just use plain white envelopes for mailing. The smaller size works for me, I spent just $1.00 plus tax at the Dollar Tree, when items were still $1.00 several years ago. You're idea is great though, I will try it some day when I have more money to spend. Thank you.
True, but people want pretty things. And if it's motivating them to get out of debt and save and still in their budget I say go for it. I used Dollar Tree security envelopes as well but decorated my because I like to junk journal and paper craft. And I love stickers. I just love watching people be creative in their savings journey.
@@abbylynn8872 Yes, exactly, I did put stickers on my envelopes as well. And you are correct about the motivation, I just imagined what I would be spending this envelope on. I put a sticker of sunglasses 🕶️ on one envelope for my eyeglasses and contact savings. Shoes and shirt stickers for clothing, etc. We just have to be creative with what we have on hand. Thank you for your comment though, I appreciate it. 🌹🙂💵
Omg this is a great idea! Thank you for making this video. I’ve wanted clear envelopes for so long but the price for them it’s ridiculous. Definitely will try to make some on my own with your video
Great idea!! Just started binge watching these types of videos and definitely need to start my own budgeting journey! I, like you, am an impulse shopper, especially online (since the pandemic). I love the clear envelopes as well. Something about them looking crisp! 😂😊
New subscriber...I'm new to cash budgeting just began last.month and the idea came on my mind about making these clear envelopes but wasn't sure how...thank u so much for this video
I know how to make these but love watching these videos i get mine from amazon u get a 50 pack i think for $9 and the amazon laminator gives u two free sheets to practice with thats how i made my first clear cash envelopes! New sub btw!
Thank you so much!!& thanks for watching! I actually just purchased a laminator with a gift card and it’s amazing! Made some new pink ones and I am so in love 😍
Nice, frugal hack to creating envelopes. Good job being resourceful! If you decide to get more laminating sheets in the future, get them from Amazon (not that brand), it's cheaper or the same price and way more more (100 sheets).
@@vaythebudgetingbutterfly thanks, I figure I'm actually budgeting the bacon, so I may as well use that name, lol. The ones I got on Amazon are called MFLabel thermal laminating sheets ($11.00 for 100 sheets). They have higher quantity amounts, but very reasonably priced. We have to save our coins! :-)
Hi! I find that when I laminate the sheet and cut the opening, they don't open up despite putting the matt part on the outside. Do you have any way to help me with this issue? Thank youu
Yes! I have been finding them for way way cheaper! Kinda sad for me , but I will be using these for quite some time to come so I am very excited. I said retail price actually, since the total I paid for the sheets and the punch was about $13!
I think I'll make some of these with/for my daughter we were joking that we needed to buy more envelopes (as they got lost or wore out) but there wasn't an "envelope" cash envelope.
2023.... it's still a great and much needed video. 💕💕💕
Thanks so much for watching! So glad this helped!
Direct and straight to the point! Love it!
Very useful diy tip! I'm making me some, if and ONLY if the laminating sheets are dirt cheap. Frugal contender #1 here.
I know!!! Thanks so much for watching!

Omg! Thank you! I thought the same thing...How can you budget when you have to spend! Lol 💕
Exactly!!😂 you’re welcome :) thanks for watching!
Great idea! Have you ever tried making these using the self-laminating sheets? No need for heat from an iron or a laminator.
I haven’t! Great idea!!
I found a pack of self-sealing laminating pouches that were $10 as well so you don't even need the thermal ones you can use the self-sealing ones too
Awesome!! That’s even better !!
Great idea! I love this!
Hey this is clever! Nice job!

Looks like the little ends that were cut off the envelope may be used for the 52 week challenge
