How To install LED Clear Side Marker's on a Porsche Cayman/Boxster 981

- I installed the Porsche upgraded LED Clear Side Markers on the ShockerRacing 2016 Porsche Cayman 981. This is a genuine Porsche part that I ordered to upgrade from the standard amber(orange) side markers that are a terrible eye soar on the Cayman. This video shows how to remove and replace the side markers along with showing how they look lit up and flashing for the turn signals.

These side markers should fit the following models and be a very similar install:
New generation 991/981 models:
- All Carrera/Carrera S models 2012.5 or newer
- All Carrera 4/Carrera 4S/Targa/GTS models 2013 or newer
- All Turbo/Turbo S/GT3 models 2014 or newer
- All Boxster/Boxster S/GTS/Spyder models 2013 or newer
- All Cayman/Cayman S/GTS/GT4 models 2014 or newer

How do you make them stay on? Is that a USA thing? Mine only blink if I am indicating otherwise they never light up.....
+Princess Peach it's probably a US thing, they call them running lights. Yours don't light up when your headlights are on?

@shockerracing teachers don't make sh*t down here. Most everyone makes the money up there, THEN comes down here. Stick it out..as long as you can. If you're ever down Cape coral/ Fort myers way....got a condo we use for the boat, usually sits til jan1-mid April. Then seasonal renter, but...give a shout...you can get that "TH-cam" famous rate 😂😉👍🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

those Halogen headlights and 17" wheels got to go
Porscheguy Ou the wheels were replaced with 19” Black OZ Racing wheels shortly after this video, but I haven’t changed the headlights.
@@shockerracing Nice. There are inexpensive LED bulbs on Amazon you could try. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the results. Just get a couple of sets to find the right one
These look so much better than the stock ones.
I just bought these for my 981 Boxster, and once installed, the back is flush with the fender, but the front is proud of the body by about a quarter inch, if you look from the top. I’ve had them on and off a few times, and I’m certain they are installed properly, just wondering if this is normal.
Steve Wilwerding the front is sticking out? Ours sat exactly like the factory lights.
The design of the LEDs is not the same as the ambers. The LEDs have a flat top, the ambers slope down to a point. I think this explains the difference. I reinstalled the ambers and they went in just like they had, and then reinstalled the LEDs and the tops do stick out a little. Run your finger along the top of the LED starting at the fender and going forward - you’ll notice that the front “bulges” out a bit. At least, that’s how mine are, and they can’t be installed any other way.
