    The dark scene with Merlin was him watching humans going at war. The stars in the background look like the kind you could find in flags and could be interpreted as nations, cultures, factions-the different flavors of mankind. You could even see the flashes of the explosions of the atrocities passing over his visage. Him watching humans killing, suffering, and dying with such an eerie look really hits home the fact that he's a Beast candidate. Because considering the parallels, he is perhaps the closest to Goetia, the Beast of Pity, in terms of watching human suffering with a bird's eye view.

    The 4 minute memorial movie is essentially a short story of Mash learning and discovering about the stories of the servants that are a part of the Throne of Heroes. Remember, Mash is a created being in Chaldea, she doesn't have any knowledge about the heroes that have become servants and needs to read up about them and their stories. Because she is alive and a man-made servant, she doesn't get the knowledge drop from the Throne of Heroes like every other servant does to immediately know about the current age. It seems like in the video, she focuses on King Altria's stories because her servant powers derives from that legend the most, being her connection to the Knights of the Round, particularly Galahad and Lancelot.
    Throughout the movie, she is reading all the stories of every servant and the pile of books, with her melancholy expression afterwards reflect what she had learned from them. That most of the servants, though having achieve greatness along with immense sacrifices in their lives, they suffered terribly for it and had tragic endings to their lives at the end of it all.
    The scene with Merlin is that with his Clairvoyance and being stuck in the Tower of Avalon for eternity, is witnessing the end of humanity through the countless wars and deaths, eventually culminating with the arrival of the 4 horsemen showcasing that the end of the world is happening. The prayer scenes with the clasp hands trying to reach out to the gods for help, hoping to be saved. However, the age of gods have long ended in the FGO verse and can no longer help out humanity. So all those prayers instead reaches the Throne of Heroes, where all of the heroic spirits have resided, having made the pact with it to defend humanity. So each of the hands that appear before the heroic spirits are the prayers of humanity, desperately looking for help and the contract is made for the spirits to become servants in reality. The big scene with Altria reclaiming Excalibur from her loyal knights is fulfilling the story prophecy that Mash was reading about at the start of the video, where she will awaken from her slumber when she reclaims Excalibur and in this case, returning as a servant technically accomplishing that prophecy. At the very end of the video, you see all the death and destruction scenes being re-winded, it represented that the servants were able to prevent the end of the world, saving humanity.
    The last scene with Mash smiling to the Master of Chaldea, happy that even though the heroic spirits had tragic lives, they continue to help the Master of Chaldea and in extension humanity as a whole after their deaths. Herself being a servant, she sees that humanity is worth fighting for alongside her master, especially during the events of FGO in general.

      I believe the main takeaway is that servants are going beyond the tale of the stories they represent and grasping the hand, wishes, and prayers of humanity(Masters being the summoners) to further the journey towards the stars. To keep humanity building upon what was left unfinished but served as the foundation for everything that has been built throughout history. The player and current humanity being just the next brick in the road before eventually a new generation takes over. This is what Fate is all about. From one installment to the next regardless of what the particular details of a story ends up being at its heart it is about the past that has been built up.

      I was looking to see if anyone else other than me noticed that those are Saxon armors. And yes, Saxons (Anglo-Saxons) were one of the peoples that the Round Table fought against (the other are the Picts and the Romans).
      But remember that Vortigern in some versions of the legend is related to Arthur/Artoria, through his/her father Uther, being either Uther's brother or cousin. And Vortigern is remembered as "king of the Saxons" despite the relation to the Brythonic Arthur/Artoria, since he is remembered as an "usurper king" who tried to take over the throne of Britain by inviting Saxon mercenaries to the island. Defeating Vortigern was one of the first things Arthur/Artoria did to cement their reign as king of Prydein (Britain), and as "defeator of the Saxons" I think it would be possible that during this time Brythonic and Anglo-Saxon cultures were blending in Camelot's realm.

    • @JohnShepherd117
      @JohnShepherd117 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      I always interpreted that scene as symbolic of Arthur/Artoria being acknowledged as the once and future king of Britain since Arthur has always been a symbol of English sovereignty even by those that have taken over England like the Anglo-Saxons and the Normans

In singularity 6 serenity got saved and because technically she's already dead as a servant she got of scott free. • @CodeJazper
    @CodeJazper ปีที่แล้ว +20

    I don't see a lot of people talking a lot about the hands reaching out scene and I just wanna give my own interpretation on it.
    When the hands reach out, it kinda looks like a call for help, similar to when people drown. And yet, when Artoria held it, it looks like she was the one that got dragged out, like she was the one that got saved instead. And I think this ties back to one of the common themes of being a servant. Being inscribed to the throne of heroes and summoned as a servant is one in a billion opportunities and how being summoned is essentially a second chance at life. We don't know what these people would do with it. Maybe they'll learn more, maybe they'll improve themselves, maybe to fix something they regret, or maybe just to laze around. But one thing is certain, they can continue where they left off and they will fight for another chance like it.

    I think the scenes where the heroic spirits are watching the world from the outside are fascinating-Iskander sitting like the beggar we see, holding his own coin. Artoria has become a symbol, no longer a person. Karna and Jeanne and Artoria's statues all being forgotten, their symbols overgrown...
    And then the hand reaches out from modernity, reaching up towards these symbols...and then it INVERTS, pulling them up out of the darkness and into a beautiful future.

      Yeah Camelot's destruction needs to happen so that the age of gods finishes and transfers to the age of man. As the last place with mysteries/mystics can be found there like fairies. Also she shouldn't have been so hard on herself as when she was taking the sword of selection Calburn, Merlin essentially warned her that's hell your walking into and that you won't have a pleasant death. Artoria still accepted her fate and I think saw visions of her future as she pulled Calburn from the stone. She did a pretty good job at protecting Camelot as it lasted longer than it should have because of her, but in the end it was inevitable that it fall.

It's meant to show how the knowledge that was left behind, the stories and legends of historical and mythological figures, is what allows us to reach out to them, to summon them forth and to understand them as people with their own dreams and regrets.

      I’d say there’s a slight insinuation in CCC, a confirmation in 3rei, and another confirmation in FGO Arcade. I’m guessing his Sha Naqba Imuru self-restriction prevents him from seeing into the past.
      CCC slightly implies Gilgamesh can see and reach into the past with the initial Ten Crowns information. “The principle and purpose behind it is unclear, but it seems the original version of this power lies in a past not even the King of Heroes, who should be humanity’s oldest, can reach.”
      Prisma Ko-Gil in 3rei Ch62 says he can see the past. “Using my Clairvoyance to see through the past, present, and future!” I’m guessing he unrestrained his Sha Naqba Imuru since he also says “I really didn’t want to use it though…”
      Strange Fake Gilgamesh was going to Clairvoyance the past, but his method was funkier. If I recall correctly, he was as going to look at parallel worlds and analogize the past using parallel worlds. I’m guessing he didn’t want to unlock Sha Naqba Imuru and so used a roundabout method.
      In the Final Singularity, Romani says “Solomon possessed the skill Clairvoyance. In fact, his was so potent that it was essentially omniscience.” So Solomon’s Clairvoyance, which can see from past to future, is basically a standard for Omniscience-level Clairvoyance.
      Sha Naqba Imuru is the “Star of Omnipotence and Omniscience”. It is an Omnipotence Noble Phantasm and an Omniscience Noble Phantasm. That it’s an Omniscience Noble Phantasm implies Gilgamesh’s sight is equivalent or greater than Solomon’s. It’s probably greater if Sha Naqba Imuru is unrestrained, but inferior of Sha Naqba Imuru is restrained.
      Ko-Gil talks about Sha Naqba Imuru and being omnipotent at the beginning of Caren’s Valentine event. And, either Enkidu or CasGil talk about him using his Omniscience Noble Phantasm in FGO Arcade’s Final Singularity to find out about the weird nickname Gilgamesh II.5 or something. It has to do with the FGO Arcade’s Babylonia Singularity.

    One question I have.
    Where does galantine fit into this? I know it's Excaliburs sister sword, but what does that mean in this context?

  • @unitcharles8278

    The first man in the ship. I really think he is Joseph of Arimathea. The one who bring all of relic to Britain. Isle of dead probably represent Britain isle cuz how mystic and f*ck up it is, I think?
    And I believe the tan man walk along side Iskandar wasnt Hephaestion. He have a quite design in El melloi. And if he wasnt gonna look like that. At least just look like you goddamn sister pls.

      It wasn't a movie. It was the celebration music video for the Fate Grand Order 8th anniversary and also the celebration of the Fate series as a whole.

    20:31 It should be noted that those who are offering the sword to Artoria look to be the Saxons themselves at least I believe them to be Saxons

    • @JohnShepherd117
      @JohnShepherd117 ปีที่แล้ว

      The armor is definitely Germanic so either the Vikings in Fate found Excalibur or it’s the Saxons
