The nuraghe Lugherras is one of the many nuraghi present in the municipal territory of Paulilatino, (about one hundred and ten) is a polylobed nuraghe and has its nucleus in the central keep, a single-tower nuraghe dating back to the Middle Bronze Age (1600 - 1300 B.C.). ), with a cyclopean architrave and two superimposed chambers; instead it is thought to date back to the Recent Bronze Age (1300 - 1150 B.C.), then to a later phase of the nuragic civilization, the trilobate bastion that was built around the central nuraghe; the trilobate bastion encloses a courtyard, defended by a turret. The entire trilobate complex is surrounded by a pentagonal antemural with four towers. Near the nuraghe there is a giants' tomb, with a rare quadrangular stele.
The nuraghe was used until the Carthaginian period (6th century - 238 B.C.) and also in the Roman period (238 B.C. - 456 A.D.), when a temple dedicated to Demeter and Kore was built on top of the structure.
