OH! The premise of the song. It happens during what is essentially a scavenger hunt for modern-to-the-viewer tech, but ancient to the characters. There's a lot of humor in the episode and has our characters climbing through 20th century looking landscapes, but doing so like it's a series of ancient pyramids. The light touch and non-standard mix in the song mirror that a lot. Eastern drums, steel guitar, and bagpipes! I find Kanno unmatched in gracefully weaving together genres and regions and instrumentation so fluidly.
The scenes when they were in the anarchy space station and also the one when they search for Ed first and last when they go to search for the BETA recorder but take the VHS in a destroyed technology museum on earth
You might not know this but as you have described the feel of the cowboy beebop music you are describing what they are showing on screen as well, even if you haven't seen the show
Just came from watching some of your older videos. Appreciate you no longer wearing that cap (the people I've known, who wear it, have been major tools; and you're not that). I like the new background vista, as well. Please check out "Snake Eater" from the Metal Gear Solid 3 ost.
This music is made for a show. Each song is kinda made for the scene. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many different style. The Singing Sea is the beat song from this show. A 10/10 torch singer jazz song.
haha the beck reference got me! def has that bluesy Mellow Gold (the album Loser is on) guitar without the drum loops and white trash vibes lol it's my favorite beck album
I personally like the original Trigun's OST more, it's very close to my heart. the composer was a member of the Seatbelts too so it fits! Trigun Stampede's OST is similar, you can tell that they listened to the original but added some more modern pop to it and some orchestral stuff. I thought it was really cool that instead of blues they chose a spaghetti western type of influence.
I was planning to show you this one. On one hand, somebody saved me 5 bucks! On the other hand, I don't get the thrill of having introduced you to something you keep on your playlist.
Even if you are not an anime fan, as I;m sure others have mentioned, still, watch this series. The music is a feast for the ears, and the way it's incorporated in to the episodes and tempo is just wonderful.
You can never go wrong with the cowboy bebop soundtrack!

suddenly got this urge of wandering around looking for an VHS player
Might still be on netflix
"Oh I know what happened, Beck just parachuted in." made me break into uncontrollable laughter.

There's a chain restaurant in Colorado called "The Egg and I" and seeing it always got this song stuck in my head lol
Finally more legendary music from cowboy bebop !!!
when i was young and in love with this anime, I got a harmonica set to learn the songs and play them. loved this track
Also, please check out "Rain," from Cowboy Bebop.
The Egg & You is another great track using the same basic melody
I had this on my ipod back in the day and still do.
This music plays when silly stuff happens, the Ed (hacker) character and dog
