I agree with pops 💯 if you have ghostwriters you can't claim to be the best
If you compare Joyner’s intro to Eminem then you’ll understand..while Joyner is saying he’s a rapper that’s trying to get a Grammy, nothing to lose, wants the money and fame and will do what he has to do to obtain it as oppose to Eminem simply saying, bro I have all that and it wasn’t worth it. That’s what I got from it
damn right
Anybody who says this song ain't great is racist
EMINEM IS KEEPING IT 100% HE'S TELLING JOYNER LUCAS, I'VE BEEN THERE STAY TRUE TO YOU! NOBODY IS GOING TO TELL ME HOW TO MY CRAFT, OR WHAT TO SAY, IT'S LONELY AT TOP OF YOUR GAME!!😝😝😃😃😃
@@helenhawthorne2129 IM NOT RACIST
If you have ghost writers you're not a rapper you're an actor.
Facts
nah they not actors lol they are just doing karaoke
eshton adams 😂😂😂😂😂
Damn dis touched my heart no cap lmao
Voice actors? 😆
Eminem 'sold his soul' to win a grammy by going commercial. Back in the day for Hip Hop, going commercial or Pop was considered as 'selling out' and not staying true to yourself and to the roots of Hip Hop.
@@Azrael42016 wtf are you even talking bruh your whole essay there was completely meaningless
@louie galindo Em didn't become a superstar until he totally changed his style and created the 'Slim Shady' persona. He went from lyrical wordplay, talking about his struggles and battle rap... to silly, humorous and for the most part exaggerated fictional stories with over the top violence. But that's a whole different story. The only one that needs to do research is you. I've been following Hip Hop culture since the late 80s dude. I remember when Hip Hop was for the ghetto and made by the ghetto. Not rich suburban kids who listened to Britney Spears and shit like that.
@ D. Sounds like Lord jamar
To devil 😈 feat. illuminati
But then he took a page out of dres book going against the grain signing a white boy. But in a way I think he felt it himself coz he slowed Down afterwards
Selling your soul is just a metaphor for not staying true to self. Welcome back slim shady.
Christopher bale slim shady is dead when eminem stopped doing drugs
No he really did sell his soul. If u listen to “Lose Yourself” he says in the song “make me king of this new world order”
Another song is “My Darling” he’s talking to the devil and he talks about selling his soul and wants it back
@@-M0LE slim shady ain't dead fuckin open your eyes
Nah bro you got it perfectly right. All these people above me are idiots except Tobby 😂😂
can agree definetly, My dad was a vice minister there for the only meat we eat is newborn babies. smh yall on some dumb shit
Lean rapping in hip hop rn: 80%
Actual lyrical rap in hip hop rn: 20%
Like to reverse this shit💯
Dont like cuz likeing wont change anything like the videos the artists make 🤠
Its funny, Em can say the most outlandish shit possible and everyone gets it's either a metaphor or joke, but the moment he mentions selling his soul, everyone takes it literally as if Em made a deal with satan in the back alley of 8 mile😂😂
You didn't just say it like that lmao but you definitely got a point
Ye done said he sold his soul and ppl aint trip.
Right?
The song did say "If I said it then I meant it" so...
😂😂
The reason why no one makes a big deal out of Kanye having ghost writers is because at least he acknowledged them. He also credits his writers when you look his lyrics. He was open about that shit. Drake wasn't. On top of that, Drake is the biggest name in the industry rn. You can't get away with that shit.
well the fact that he credited them automatically make them writers and not ghost writers
@@bradleyamos9519 agreed👍
Freestyling on his phone who does that ha ha
Bradley Amos also u could be credited as a writer on a song and not write bars for someone. Kanye is known for giving credit to everyone no matter how big or small their role is in making the song(not to mention Kanye has plenty of hits he's wrote). The problem that some have with what Drake did is not only did Q. Miller write the song, Drake took his flow, his cadence, everything!
@@bradleyamos9519 if you look at the liner notes and publishing drake always credits everyone who wrote his lines. not sticking up for him but its in there.
React to The Ringer, the first song on Eminems album Kamikaze
StralleP then rap devil
this the one chief
Coming today !
ay good shit
"I wrote (rode) until my wheels fell off
I'm working tirelessly (tyrelessly) ay"
My ass is so dead after getting this
I don't know anyone else that can play on Words like this. Em's overhated
I never expected a Joyner Lucas and Eminem collab
joyner deserved it. also wud love to see a logic and eminem collab
Lil Saturated I expected it but I didn’t expect THAT kind of song
Lucky joyner lucas 😂😂
Cherry Bomb was bad
@@IDK-eu7dv Cherry Bomb was an album ahead of its time. Now listening to that shit it bumps hard as fuck
The first verses of Joyner and Em are the two sides of the same coin, Joyner spits about an underdog trying to make it in this industry and Em is talking about the other side of an established superstar having it all. It was a play on their verses, Em's verse is answering Joyner's verse like Hey you want a grammy or an oscar but to get that shit you need to sell your soul to get them. It was a very clever way to start the song.
Also Drake Claims he's an MC, Ye came into the game as a producer he never has claimed he is an MC. If you claim your an MC and you have ghostwriters writing your lines? Yeah you ain't an MC stop Lying Drake. That's what people say why Drake having ghost writers is a big deal and why him"Lying" about him being an MC. I personally think its not to the levels that they wrote his entire songs or albums o for me is not that crazy, but I don't see Drake as an MC.
Em's problem is that kids don't care if Drake has or had ghostwriters, they still call him a dope MC or regard him up there with the great MC's, that's why he says these kids don't care and just throw him in the convo. No you should care when it comes to the great MC's if they had ghost writers writing for them.
They did another Ross Capicchioni. Em just gave the biggest props to Joyner for this. This is my wildest dreams coming true.
That's what I'm saying. You can't call yourself an emcee if you don't write your own shit.
nuthin but factsss
He doesn't talk bad about drake. Em said drake did something for his daughter that he will never forget so hell always be in eminem's good grace.
Your not a true lyricist if you have a ghost writer. That's just my opinion. Shout out to the real lyricist out there.
Joshua Iwan #Drake in other words haha.
Thing is rap unlike any other music genre people flexing to prove their superiority. So if you need a ghost writer all that makes you is a mouth piece.
Joshua Iwan basically you’re rapper-interpreter just like some singers sings other people’s lyrics. Ain’t no shame to this but don’t take credit for more your due
Son Goku Nah that shits facts kid. How can you be a lyricist if you don’t write your own lyrics lmao?😂
Naw really?
Kanye's never had ghostwriters, he's always credited his writers, Drake has not, which is why he gets so much flack.
2047Rook kanye wrote gold digger for Alicia keys. She passed on it and fumbled a big ass mistake cause when kanye recorded it a masterpiece came from that. Kanye wayne and Em are my favorite
Currently Sean cole and kendrick are my favorite
I agree with your dad 100%. Its all about lyricism.
ayee at least i found someone like me
Yup because music definitely isn't about how it sounds... Stupid
BIG FACTS 💯🤘🏽
And melody , flow, beats, delivery, not just lyricism , that’s only with being an MC not an all around artist
This ain't it chief
7:28
Remember when Drake said "First name: Greatest, Last name: Ever"?
LOL I don't think so!#IDontBelieveInGhosts
D.
Last name Ever, First name Greatest
Like a sprained ankle, boy I ain’t nothing to play with
you got it backwards but u right. he hyped himself up even though those arent his lyrics
D. He may have said it but he didn’t write it lmfao #ISeeDeadPeople
Last name : ever ,First name : Greatest , biyotch
Anybody notice how Em just morphed from spitting normally to mumble rapping and then back into regular rhyming without even stopping. He even mumble raps better than these clowns! Also react to XClan dammit. haha
If you can understand the words then it's not mumble rap
What is mumble rap to you?
How can you say he mumble raps better any mumble.rap is shit
He mumbled just to make his point 😂😂😂
Crosby Taylor 😂
If you don't write your own stuff then you aren't able to call yourself an artist 🤔
MersyHipHop *rapper. You'd basically be spitting someone else's shit, thats fraud imo
@@eddieguererro46
No,artist in general.
Thats literally 80 percent of what rap is, without it theres no talent in the genre, thats why the genre got messed
Rs
Wrong
I think what he means by selling his soul he means going mainstream when his roots were in underground battle rapping. One minute he was tearing apart the entire music industry. The next minute he was sharing a stage with mainstream pop singers. So he went against his roots just to get the recognition of the music industry as a whole.
If you say so.
naw cuz waay b4 this rappers have sad theyve sold their soul, which is a major reason why alotta of our favorite underground still underground
99,9% of the people you see in the mainstream media sold their soul to get fame/money/recognition. Not that they wanted or offered in the first place, but because the people behind it are all involved in some evil shit.
So proud of Joyner for getting to do a song with his idol! What made it so much more respectful was eminem complimented joyner's flow in his beginning verse, ultimate respect. Still joyner season!
You can tell Joyner is influenced by Eminem
Kickinthescience who isn’t
That's exactly why Eminem says he's the goat. He's influenced a ton of new age rappers
Low key an aprentice
Actually if you listen to the rest of joyner's albums you'd realise that's joyner's flow and Em is emulating it to emphasise the juxtaposition of their two stories. I'm tired and kinda fucked up, but hopefully that was understandable.
ebonyboye
nah bro eminem never seriously calls himself the goat, he respects and always pays homage to pac, biggie, nas, jay etc
When Em says he "sold his soul" I think he means he did things he didn't really want to do, and he feels that he's been disingenuous in the past.
I think Eminem is being metaphorical and he went through the industry and they told him to do things he probably wouldn’t do in hind sight to achieve his fame I don’t think he actually sold his soul because I don’t believe in that but I don’t know
Yea you can't literally sell your soul. You know how Many mfs would be rich rn. Lol
I think he did type of music he wouldnt do just to appeal to the mainstream media
Fredo true true I believe in that and I know he’s being metaphorical the statement itself is metaphorical
It just means he gave up his life...privacy .... marriage....everything for his career.
Same, when I hear the phrase "sell a soul" in the industry I see it more as the artist gave up their life to their art and became a slave to the industry. Signing contracts that force them to do whatever their record label force on them and givng up their social life for their career. Most celebrities can't even step outside safely without the media or even enemies bugging them.
I was really vibing with you guys in this song until that beep sound started to get annoying
Adam Morales they have to do that bcuz of copyright if not TH-cam will delete it
It's actually smart. They do it in a way we can listen to the whole song. Nicely done!
I agree, I understand they have to chop the video up for the copyright issues but a high-pitched beep? Rip headphone users
Its unbearable. I clicked off this fuckin video.
Austin Thy don’t have to do that either. They can just cut to black and cut the audio rather than blast the stupid beep
He meant the grammys are taking the souls of the artits ..
Might wanna edit that
The song was a switch between Em and Joyner. I guess you heard Joyner talkin about always wanting a grammy and shit and being hungry for success. Then you got Em who basically tells Joyner he was like him, hungry for success and shit. Em just explained its not worth giving up everything to be at the top when some stupid mumble niggas can maked stupid songs and be more successful..
A R T I T S
I think he meant that rappers sell/lose their soul (their being, their style, their belief) in order to win the grammy. They sell themselves to the popular trends
No idiot, he meant doing the sacrifices/rituals the labels make you do to get you fame or make you blow up.Eminem even said he sold his soul to Dr.Dre thats why hes at where hes at.The illuminati is behind all this industry with the devil/satanic symbols and yall are just sheeps.
MY DAD REACTS TO Eminem - The Ringer REACTION th-cam.com/video/cGIDLQJLhlg/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for the reaction, can't wait to hear more from this album. Respect to all the people out here who know what true Hip/hop is all about.
When he say he sold his soul I feel that he means metaphorically not literally like he sold out and dropped his standards and principles to get a Grammy
I think when he says that he sold his soul he feels like that's what he was doing at that time. We all know Em used to be a freakin weirdo but we all loved him for that. So I think at that time being addicted to drugs and toxic relationships he felt like thats how he was selling his soul but now he he's realized how valuable life is. There can be an argument made that this is the best Eminem we ever got
facts💯
When he said I sold my soul to get em. He means he put his blood sweat and tears in winning them.🤦♂️
John Irving No bro, read the other comments. Em is talking about not being authentic to his style, he did songs and made music with people Shady wouldn't normally do, just for mass views, because his label wanted him to. Drake is a perfect example, and new rappers like Lil Pump & Lil Uzi vert.
I think that it means he put songs together that were more, "commercial" and not songs he would write or rap if not trying to win a grammy.
John Irving bruh smh stupid
100% with you with lyricism that’s THE talent we need
you explained briefly why Eminem dissing drake about the ghost writers thing.
“In it for the recognition” 🔥🔥🔥 that “I sound like a broken record everytime i break a record” line got me hyped
The way you prevent copyright issues are hilarious. Mad respect for that hustle though 😂😂
best em verse in 10 plus years when he shows this side he shows why he's the goat 5 different styles in one verse with one point 🔥🔥🔥
I love watch these Father, Daughter reactions. You always speak the truth, & constantly looking fresh! Glad to be a follower!
When he saying he sold his soul. He means that he gave up his more edgy music for the more mainstream sound he went with Eminem show and onward.
No. He means he gave up everything for his career. His privacy. His marriage. His life really. Fame took it all from him and he didn't even know the price until he already paid it. He's telling everyone that it's not all it's cracked up to be. TES is a classic hip hop album and relapse is nowhere near mainstream sound.
Thats the way I took it but other People actually think he met the Devil and literally sold his Soul 😂
Jay Green if you hear his song called my darling em was talking to the devil
Jay Green relapse was garbage 😂😂 regardless
Jay Green both of ours comments are right fuck face you went into details that he's already spoken on in this song he was only talking about giving up his style of music before Encore get the fuck on trying to school me punk bitch.
Great, now I feel old. Found out Em is over 40 AND this woman's dad looks like a kid to me. fml
Ditto. Kill me....
I’m 41. Age is what you make it. Live healthy. Exercise. Be humble.
Do "Eminem, Kamikaze", then do "MGK, Rap Devil".
Why? Kamikaze isn't the mgk diss. Not Alike is.
Cumpilations I was actually hoping they already did this...they’re behind
The should do Not alike because thats the song he dissin MGK
You mean Not Alike, so they can have context on eminem dissing MGK.. kamikaze he doesnt talk about mgk
Kamikaze isn't that great. Do "Not alike" with Royce the the MGK "Rap Devil". Those are the 2 that go together
Love your hair girl, love the reaction videos as well. ( watched this after the haircut video)
He said, "I wrote til the wheels fell off, I'm working tire-lessly aye." There are so many double meanings in Em' s lyrics like ... you'll never get all of it the first time around.
Sold my soul it's a metaphor
Eminem has a song called My Darling. It's a dope song where he's arguing with Satan. Even if you don't react to it you should check it out it will explain a lot of what you were just wondering. Keep up the dope reviews👍👍
hes not arguing with satan lol
eminem is arguing with slim shady and he said he already killed slim and how he doesnt want to be slim and stuff
John Pavese he’s not arguing with Satan he’s arguing with slim shady/his addiction or his dark side that wants him to do drugs and shit
John Pavese Nope its actually similar to xxxtentacions-sad music video where hes not fighting his old self but instead hes arguing,in this case with Slim Shady but true My Darling imo is one of the best Em songs
GG Allin99 dude it’s not Satan, it’s slim shady lol, did you even check lyrics? If you do you should understand that easily
I don't think it's satan himself. I think it's just a regular demon called Slim Shady.
Ghost writers are what’s wrong with hip hop today. Plain and simple.
🔥I swear I love yalls reaction because y’all really say how you feel!!
Saderris Turner i feel shes riding her dads opinion. She changes her opinion when he says stuff and seems to like and hate all the same things.
to write your own shit and to perform it is the definition of a rapper if you have a ghost writer then you aren't a rapper your a performer
I love y’all reaction videos and bring up good points. Stay blessed yall
Nothing but love aleea your shits dope...and you have a beautiful smile just wanted to say...keep up the good work guys
As sold his soul I think he meant he wasn’t true to himself sometimes when he won some of those Grammys
No. It just means he had to give up everything for his career.
no he meant by selling his soul he meant he sold himself out and exchanged his freedom for money and fame
Aaron Figueroa em fans make any excuse to still believe him
Jermaine McClain lol I’m the breakdown it actually means to win a Grammy you have to give up everything
You two are my absolute favorite review team. Ghostwriting means you don't acknowledge whoever wrote for you and claim it as your own. Wish nothing but the best for you guys and your relationship is amazing.
You are so beautiful I swear... your personality and smile is amazing💯
You have a very cool dad.
Yeah I'm here!!! I love lyrical rap long live!! RIP, mumble rappers.
Those two need to do an entire album together. We already know that em is the goat but believe me, Joyner is going to be right there with him. That dude is stupid dope!!!!!
Kanye don’t have ghost writers...he credits the writers...plus he is a producer also
Gozi Odiase apparently the majority of the time he writes his verses then shows it to a group of people and they like edit his verse and he credits them for it
Hes still not good
U must be a kanye fan gtfo

Yes finally you guys react to eminem 😭😭 best reaction channel ever 🤘🤘
mumble isn't the future or the new hip hop...it's just another derivative of rap...like gulf coast rap...midwest fast rap...krunk music...etc etc. It's just the fad right now.
true
"Selling my soul" is just a metaphor. Not literally SELLING HIS SOUL to the devil or some shit.
I WAS WAITING FOR THIS!!!!!
Do the ringer next it is fire too 🔥🔥
When he said “But I sold my soul to get em”, I think he means he sold out. Meaning he didn’t make music how he wanted to, he did what everybody else wanted him to so in order to get the publicity that comes with winning a Grammy.
You're dad funny as hell 😂😂. I'm subscribing and going back to watch y'all other reactions 1love.
HERE FOR THE BARZ!!!!!!
When he said he sold his soul he's talking in the artists that beat him in the Grammys pov
Love u guys keep it up!
I feel pops! I aint gonna be listening to that mumble rap/ screaming rap. Im bout them bars, shit with content that makes you think.
Nah every rapper doing yelling rap no one doin screaming rap properly except scarlxrd
Don’t Eminem scream lmao
KND bruh if you watched the video you should know its not bout em
"I'm real." --The guy who wrote that for me
The whole sold my soul to get em is kinda explained in his song My Darling. Y'all should check it out
God bless your comments at the end. Perfect.
Listen to “my darling” by Em. It talks more about him selling his soul to the devil

Hey! You guys really need to react to Ab Soul - The Book of Soul! It is such an emotional story telling track with a phenomenal jazz like beat. Also, the lyrics are incredible and devastating at the same time! Please react to it! Keep up the good work guys!
The lyrics aren't incredible on the Book of Soul. It's just a heartfelt song. Ab Soul has better songs with more creative lyricism.
Notification popped up during school, I've been waiting to get home to watch this. Because I requested this. Thank you

Great review
That one dislike was the combined effort of all the people Em dissed in this album
Your dad's a real one lyricism ftw!
Imagine if it came out eminem had a ghost writer on his 1st albums ppl would be pissed. I just would not look at his same
i've been waiting for this!!! i binge watched your videos one day and i've been addicted every since.
The difference with Drake and Kanye is that Kanye has always shouted out the people who wrote what he said and has always gave them credit. Drake gives no credit or recognition to whoever writes his shit.
GammaOrigin Kanye is an authentic artist who is a real man! Much respect to him for coming back strong!
Eminem writes all his own songs thats why he said "ghost writers"
Check out the ringer and "not alike" by Eminem and Royce
This is father and daughter “bobbing their heads” goals!
Sold his soul to the RAP GAME chill the f out DAD hahahahahahahahah
