Years later and Compassion is still the king of compressors and more, the inbuilt transient shaper is pretty amazing by itself. Super steep learning curve but totally worth it.

How on earth do you get it to work in m/s mode?! Can't seem to find an answer anywhere! Thanks

Open the advanced panel, then at the bottom right cycle thru Global Parameters until you get to M-S Processing and switch it to on :)

@@Dmgaudioofficial great thanks. I’ve managed to do that much but how do you choose which part of the audio ie mid and/or side is being processed? Surely the parameters themselves should go back and forth once you start tweaking them individually, no? Thanks again!

@@jonneves01 Ace! I'm not entirely sure what you mean, are you after Multiplicity for detailed mid/side and dynamic EQ work?

@@Dmgaudioofficial Hey thanks again for such a quick reply! What I meant was how do I switch the interface to show the processing I'm doing to the mid channel and then how do I do the same thing to the side channel? Usually compressors that do this would have the top half, for instance, which is used for mid processing and than the bottom half, which would be used for side processing. Makes sense? Also I'd like to see the meters reflecting this. Re Multiplicity - I also own that and it's brilliant but I'd like to get Compassion to work in mid/side mode as well....

@@jonneves01No worries! You'll probably want to switch between SC1/Out1 and SC2/Out2 in the Listen menu - when M-S Processing is switched on, SC1 refers to the mid signal and SC2 to the side signal (Out1/2 same but with the outputs) :) more info in the manual if you'd like dmgaudio.com/dl/DMGAudio_Compassion_Manual.pdf - probably TH-cam will eat this link 🤷

Great products! I find it ironic that a company that spent so much time modeling natural, analog hardware uses such repetitive, electronic rubbish to demo its products. It makes it hard to get a feel for how well it would work on real music.

That's why I stopped watching Pensado's Place...I'll be a lot more impressed when they're showing mix tips with real/raw instrumentation, as opposed to hypersampled loops : /
