  • In this video,we are going to show the hybrid cumminity and hybrid owners, who want to recondition their Yukon hybrid battery packs, how to use a Grid Charger or a High Speed Charger to charge the hybrid battery pack. The battery pack may be charged while inside or outside on a bench. You will use the High speed Charger in two halves, while the Grid Charger can chjarge the whole pack in one go. Enjoy.

    I just received my grid charger. My spare core went from 300V to 340 V overnight. I permanently installed the wires in my '13 Silverado as per the last few min of this video and drilled a hole in the centre of the front plate and put in a grommet to keep the wires safe. I am charging my Silverado now. To prevent anyone from starting the truck while on charge I clipped the keys to the charging cable :), I plan to add a relay to prevent this from ever happening by accident. I'll post results in this comment as Chevy Hybrid info is tough to come by.

      "Information tough to come by" You can say that again. I have 09 Tahoe Hybrid with very low miles and while not well used is old. Not much info out there for GM Hybrid owners, mostly Toyota stuff or Honda.

      Once you install permanently, do you need to disconnect the high voltage wires or 12v? Or keep everything together and not turn the key and your fine?

    • @VeniceHybridTech
      @VeniceHybridTech  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Terry, You have not understood the contents of the video properly. This video is explaining how to use a High Speed charger which has a max voltage of 285V. Hence, it is not capable of charging the whole pack at once. However, if you use my Grid Chargers for Yukon Hybrid, they are capable of charging the whole pack at once as the voltage is higher. So it will depend upon what charger you are using and what is output of that charger. Hope that helps.

    • @latunguley
      @latunguley ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@VeniceHybridTech so I'm assuming on a bench we only charge 20 sections at a time positive and negative? Inside the vehicle you're telling us to charge 40 packages that one time within the vehicle bolted down to the back seat floor in a 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe hybrid? Do I stand correct? Or am I wrong? You clearly do not show in the video inside of a vehicle where it's a permanently mount your base charger and clearly if I'm going to spend that kind of money I'm going to spend double the money and charge. Everybody's hybrid in my area because there's nobody that can pull this off in my area

      @@latunguley Hi , I will repeat myself again. It depends upon what kind of a charger you order!!!!!!!!!!!! I have chargers with different outputs, so if you order a charger with output of 400 V, you can charge the whole pack, whether inside or outside the vehicle. However if you order a charger with 285 V output, you will be charging in two halves. I suggest you email me at info@venicehybridtech.com or call me at 424 227 6719. Thanks.

    Why do you charge the battery? Is there another benefit other than top balancing the batteries?

    • @VeniceHybridTech
      @VeniceHybridTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The Grid Chargers and High Speed Chargers are used to charge and balance the battery packs. Yes there is a need to charge the hybrid batteries as the systems in the hybrid vehicles do not do a proper and full capacity charge. These systems also get old and do not perform all the time at their peak performance. The batteries then start getting weaker and weaker.

    • @VeniceHybridTech
      @VeniceHybridTech  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@davidccoulombe Mostly, I will say 80% of the times, the hybrid pack is either weak or unbalanced. hence the charger will help in taking care of both of those. However, if the battery pack has a few dead modules, then those will need to be replaced before the battery will start functioning properly. You might still need a charger.
