    Great terrarium! I love dart frogs! Just a tip for "painting" the background: instead of going from light to dark, start with the dark and then add the lighter brown and grey as highlights. It will be a lot easier to get the effect you're going for! Thanks for the great video!

    Looks awesome, man. I've got about half the stuff gathered for my first vivarium and first reptile, a crested 🦎 , and I'm just sitting here watching, totaling up the costs of your build in my head, and man...phew. You've gotta pay through the nose to set up a nice bioactive tank. I never would've have suspected it would actually be THIS high, and mine will even be somewhat more modest. This is just a new hobby for me though. It's operating costs in your case, tax deductible lol

    Careful with that many Tincs in one enclosure when they mature they become very territorial especially the females, I'd also be weary of that much sphagnum it's a very common problem we see in the Dart frog groups typically because Josh's Frogs still instructs people to use a whole layer of sphagnum but when it starts to decay with that much of it, it becomes a haven for bad bacteria that can cause bacterial infections, I'd also add alot more leaf litter. Besides that I liked your approach on this vid wasn't as over the top as some others.

    Hi this looks awesome! I have the same size vivarium for my darts for a few months, but the plants aren’t flourishing like yours. What humidity do you keep it at? How many mists per day? Where do you get your green moss for the bottom and the moss slurry?

    • @mightymorphingreptiles
      @mightymorphingreptiles  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I keep mine like probably 80% constantly not sure. I don’t check to be honest just something I kinda know when it’s good. I use a glass stop with a 1-2 inch vent. I mist at least 1-2 times a day. The moss slurry I made myself. You can see how I did it in my bumble bee dart frog video. To get the Java moss to make it I have a link in the description. The other moss I’ve purchased at reptile expos.

  • @mightymorphingreptiles
    @mightymorphingreptiles  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I failed to address in the video as some may know. But with tinctorioius species you will have to separate them as they age, as females are territorial in the presence of a male!🥸 Thanks everyone for watching!🤙

    I have some questions if you have any advice or links. It's okay if you dont reply, I'm aware its a lot. Sorry for any inconvenience. I have a couple plants and I'm creating my terrarium. I'm trying to figure out best location for them in the tank and instructions on how to best plant them. Also I need to know what size pots they would need to have if I am putting pots in the background. I'm worried they will outgrow them.
    I have
    Lemon button fern
    Rattlesnake plant
    2 earth star bromiliads, one red one stripe.
    One nerve plant
    Petra
    and an umbrella plant
    I have an 18x18x24.
    I have tons of wood to mount anything to.
    Would it be safe to use repti bark in the background mixed with coco coir and sphagnum moss? It's flukers. I'm putting it on drylock.
    Thank you if you do help. Again even links would help
    I'll take any advice from anyone!

    Curious about the Aluminum plant? I got a few this past weekend as I too like them, but I’m reading they are poisonous? How much are we worried about plants that are poisonous in the set ups? Even the Snake Plants everyone likes is poisonous.

    • @mightymorphingreptiles

      It’s totally fine dude! If it is poisonous then it’s only from ingestion. Tons of people use this plant for their reptiles and frogs!

    Are the plants you're putting in grown in organic soil with no fertilizers? Or do you clean and repot your plants in substrate?

    One thing I don't understand: if you use Latex paint to waterproof the foam, isn't it spoiled by putting wire in it?

    • @mightymorphingreptiles
