oh my GOODNESS you don't understand how long this song took me to finish producing. I started writing it around the start of the year as an attempt to mimic GHOST's style and it's gone through so many instrumentation and composition changes it's ridiculous. mixing this song was a nightmare. but in the end, it's done!! and i'm so glad it's out!!!
this kind of ended up becoming a mini-collab between my pals and i? so big big big thank u to yoppy for making about half of the vocal melody and helping with the lyrics!! also tuning, thank you so much and i appreciate you so much for dealing with piko. and ofc a big ghastly thank you to ghost for offering to do the art and pv. y'all are the best i swear

I've debated putting out the backstory for this song publicly because there's more context behind this story than just this song. However, after thinking it over for a VERY long time, I don't really like the backstory I wrote for it anymore, and I'm gonna scrap it because it just feels...very poorly written for my current standards. That being said, I'm planning on revising the backstory and possibly making that public instead (...which maybe even includes remaking this song so I'm more content with the production/story telling behind it all? Who know!) Parts of this song were already no longer canon with the unrevised backstory (namely stuff like "there was never a me" and "and I wander on, a useless life") so if I DO share the revised backstory, expect stuff like that to differ. I WILL say that there will be more main characters though!! There's one lad in particular that makes me very :D that I hope you all like!!
I hope I'm able to get the full story to you guys soon! There's so much I want to share that's not quite ready yet, but I hope that in soon time it can share it with you!!

SLAMMA MONTANA BANANA i currently don’t have 100% set in stone plans for any story continuation. i have some stuff started that i want to work on, but I have a lot of things to finish that are honestly more of a priority for me right now. so I can’t say whether or not this story will be continued

Ghost have such distinct artstyle that I dont even need to look into credits to say that this was drawn by them in around 2018-2019.
The nose and the inking is what I recognize the most... Ghost’s art is beautiful

@@P0K30KAM1 Yes, I agree. I feel like their style from the start were getting better and better to reach it's peak at around the time of making this to suddenly change dramatically since Uncanny. I know the new style has very realistic proportions and is not bad, but it just lost the magic and that special feeling the old one gived. For me at least

i love the fact that this song has been named "The Building of a Mineshaft", "peepee poopoo", and "thê mäkïng öf chíméræ" all before i knew it existed. it's a Piko song, wonderful job to you three goobers.
Overall, I think the song’s excellent! While the vocals could have used a bit more work to make them easier to understand, I’m assuming those are always hard to do well, so I’m giving them an A-. Everything else was A+ work though! Thank you to all involved people for making this major bop of a song!
Listening to this a while later, and I’m not sure what I was thinking giving everything else an A+. My current opinion is that overall, the song deserves between S and SS, out of SSS.

This is one of those rare songs that make me fall in love the second I hear it, so bravo!! Like others, the vocals are kind of choppy and hard to understand at many points which is a bummer but that doesn't hold it back from being undeniably catchy and addictive

Also, random opinion, but I think using a Japanese voicebank like Piko for an English song like this was a better choice than using a native English voice. Since the vocals end up sounding more foreign when speaking English, it gives more character to the main character (poor guy ;-;) who is really trying to understand what the heck he is, especially considering that he isn't even human.
But hey, that's just my opinion. This is a hecking bop of a track to listen to either way!

It is Dec. 27, this is The building of a mineshaft. It is a glorious day for man.
The intro gave me chills! I love the swing rythm the majority of the song has, and how the strong beat kinda drops out to make way for a more panicked, shrill tone during that last verse/chorus. It's a very vivid story and I absolutely adore it!
