    He trying to hide his facial expressions but how can you 🤷🏾‍♂️. I believe Jaydon needs an album. I’d definitely support him.

    Also he is borrowing chords from other keys. This is what the pros do. The chords sounds crazy because it is related to another key. You can borrow from many relitive keys. Tip key note in the key you are playing in can also be its own key. So use chords from those keys and put them in a easy song at first.

    It has a Richard Smallwood feel to it bc even though Kirk wrote it, Dr. Smallwood played the piano on it 🙂

      That happens when you have such a large library of chords licks and theory you can just improve. I have done that a few times. You jsu play what comes to mind. Some was born with music in them. I don't know If I was born with it but I really worked hard and I was inspired by many local and famous Musicians that layed the ground work for me. It wasn't as easyback in the day. You had a few teachers, records,tapes and seeing others playing live and looking at their hands. Now you have videos on you tube midi files, on;ine classes mp3s and more. So you have a better chance to be great than back in the day. The talent has to be there as well. Some will only get so good or not good at all. I had a friend taht been playing for years and was barly average at best. He doesn know how to play chords with his left hand nor solo at all. I still struggle with jey changes as it wasn't something I praticed but I must do it to be better. I have learned to reharm or make and play the song my way now. God is good. Just keep praticing and hang around a player much like Jayson and you will get better your ear is important as well to be able to hear the crazy chords. The flat 5's 9's shart 5 and 9's and know where to place them. It takes time also learn song that already have the chords licks and progressions in them. Learn them in all 12 keys. Then make them yours. Listen to jazz, fusion jazz 80's 90's pop, classical and take chords and progressions from them and put it in your playing as well as old school gospel and the new neo soul and r&b styles.

      @@MISTAMUSIK thanks for the advice. I was already learning some songs I used to play for a choir in every key (i.e His mercy endureth forever) but I haven’t mastered all of the chords used in it even though I can play the song.

      @@hammondboybennett1580 both would help. Since he can find what he hums again I wonder how much of perfect pitch helps him with phrasing chords. But I get your point. Happy 4th brother!

    • @hammondboybennett1580
      @hammondboybennett1580 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TerranceNock I agreed a combination of both is better but relative pitch gives you the ability to follow the melody line. Think about it you have other great advanced keyboard players and organist on that skill level who could do the same thing with relative pitch alone Joe Pryor is a great example of that.
